The Saturday Savers Club's first subscription savings plan!
The SPI subscription savings plan was launched in February 2024 and applications to join closed on Friday 8 March 2024 . This post is a short update after the plan has been running for twenty-four weeks to report how everything is going. Below this week's report, you can see the allocations for each of the subscribers, arrangements for paying the weekly subscription, the release dates for each round of SPI and information about the SPI token.
Early Notice - SPI Subscription Plan Round 2!
Exclusive for members of the Saturdays Savers Club, there are 500 SPI available for Round 2 of the Subscription Savings Plan. SPI will be available at a fixed price of 6 HIVE each, with a minimum subscription of 10 SPI, with payments of 1.5 HIVE over forty weeks. Payments will run from September 2024 to May 2025.

Week 24 Report: Sunday 25 August 2024
Everything is working perfectly and the sixth SPI payment has been distributed to the subscribers - four more isssues to go. Checking subscriptions is very easy with the recurring payments: subscribers who are on target are showing 16 payments to come. (Everyone is on target)!
As reported in Week 2, there was one subscriber who set up an incorrect number of recurring payments. An additional catch-up payment was made during the first two weeks and recorded in the Week 2 report. There have been no further errors.
This is manageable in the pilot as we are working with a very small group of subscribers, but it would significantly increase the work for the operator if there were many subscription anomalies to keep track of.
Checking payments, distributing SPI and writing the post took less than forty minutes - that's where we need to be.

How to Pay Weekly Subscriptions
Weekly subscriptions are sent to @eds-holdings, using the recurring transfers facility in the wallet on front ends like peakd.com.
The first subscription was due by 18:00 UTC on Friday 15 March 2024. When subscribers transferred their first subscription, they set up recurring payments for 40 transfers every 7 days (168 hours). The first one transferred immediately.
Weekly transfers are:
- 1.13 HIVE for 10 SPI
- 2.26 HIVE for 20 SPI
- 3.39 HIVE for 30 SPI

The weekly transfers are running for 40 weeks, with the last one due by 18:00 UTC on Friday 13 December 2024.
The weekly transfers are checked and, providing transfers have taken place, SPIs are released every fourth Sunday.
Defaulting Subscribers
Any subscribers who default may, after any paid-for SPI have been transferred, be excluded from the plan. Any remaining SPI from their allocation will be returned to the pool.
The aim of the pilot is to have a hassle-free subscription plan which can be used for other projects in the future. It is the responsibility of subscribers to ensure they can make their transfer every week.

More About SPI
SPI is a growth token which is now in its sixth year of operation. The fund is operated by @silverstackeruk.
The original fund value was 13,000 USD in 2019 and was valued at 177,175 USD on Sunday 3 March 2024. The fund is hard-capped at 93,000 tokens.
The fund has over thirty investment streams with currently roughly 75% in HIVE, 10% in Hive-Engine tokens and 15% in off-Hive investments including ETH and non-crypto investments. The fund aims to grow by 20% this year. It has taken advantage of changes in the external environment including the BITCOIN:HIVE and the HIVE:HBD ratios. The fund provides an earnings and holdings report each Sunday on the @spinvest account.
SPI pays a small dividend in HIVE each week, roughly equivalent to 9.6% APY, but this is not the main purpose of the investment fund.
SPI has a 95% buyback guarantee.
