Make it stick

IMG_0490.jpeg

I realize that motivation alone does not do the work. Sometimes you need to get your mind right. You can start any journey based on motivation as time goes on something must keep the fire burning, that’s why most people stop a good habit or hard habit in the process because nothing gives them a reason to continue. We have people today who stop doing good habits because their motivation fades. Sometimes we have to tie our habits to a good perspective. We have to tell ourselves the reason why we are doing it. Some of these reasons can be our motivation and can project us forward even at hard times.

When people talk about good habits, most people always mention the downside to it. People complain about how hard their good habits are and they keep telling themselves this negative side of what they’re doing, which might not mean a lot at first, but as time progresses when you keep telling yourself the negative side about what you are doing It sticks to our brain. We have some habit that it takes a lot of time before you start seeing results. Such habits are very difficult to follow to the end, That’s why you must tie such a habit to a good reason, without a result, it might be difficult to continue a habit but when you tie them to a good reason, the good reason would be your motivation as time progresses.

Let the good reason stick

The perfect example of such a habit is when you are saving for retirement. The benefit of what you are saving for is not now, when you are planning for your retirement, the result might take forever and you start telling yourself how saving is hard how much you need the money to grow your life, also how you can put the money into use might start making you think otherwise. the best thing you can do for yourself is telling yourself how good it is to plan and save for retirement. When you want to talk about saving for retirement to people, you say good things about it, This will not only help you to continue, but it will give you reasons to never stop because you want to have a better life after you retire.

Nothing comes easy and the best way we can build consistency for hard habits is by telling ourselves the benefits at the end and sometimes checking the results of people that have done it previously are the things that keep you motivated. Results might come early to give you more reasons to do it, but some results might take longer time, when you look at the benefits give you a reason to stick to it.

Train your brain by saying something good about your habit will help to pursue your dream and create a habit that suits what you are trying to do. When we talk about how difficult it is to achieve a habit it makes it more difficult for us to continue, but when we train our brain to see this difficulty as something good our motivation will never fade away, no matter how hard it is to outside people. It might be very hard for us because we have trained our minds towards it, It becomes a routine.

Thanks for your time.
