Is X a Web3?

One of the things that have been so confusing to me in this online world is the difference between web2 and web3.
All through my life, I've been taking X as a web3 untill I listened to the ctyptoholics Web space hosted by ERIC F Na where it was mentioned that X is not a web 3 and it's only trying to look like it.

A long the line, what they kept hitting at is how X is not decentralized and this alone gave me the satisfactory answer I needed because I knew what CENTRALIZATION and DECENTRALIZATION are.

Truth be told, it's not only me that's still battling with the differences between web2 and web3. If you among, learn from this.

As we all know, Elon musk is the current owner of X after he bought it from Mark and ever since then, the changes on the site have been from one hit to another...this is a typical example of a Centralized platform where one man, maybe with his team sit down and start changing things because they own it.

Can you imagine that on a platform like Hive? Of course no way!

X differs from web3 platforms primarily due to its centralized nature. On X, the owner has the say and that say is always the final, he does that without seeking the opinion of the members and even if he does that, I doubt if he would put any of the feedback to work.
In web3, the pattern is more like having a collective Communities for decision Instead of having a sole entity dishing out the decisions to the communities.
On web 3, everyone in the community has a say. This means, absolutely no one has a final say, no matter how influential the person is.

In X, decisions and rules are made by the company that owns it. They control how the platform looks, what features are available, and even set guidelines for user behavior. No doubt, the features of X are very good and enjoyable especially the short posts that earn good amount of money at the end. But all these ideas came from the governing body and if they feel they can't continue with the payment or the short post of the thing, they'll change it in a night with a long written announcement and there's nothing we can do about it...we can only lament.

Should I talk about low level of privacy?
In X, your account and data are kept on the company's servers. The company controls who can access your information and how it's used. If the company changes its rules or faces technical problems, it can affect everyone using the platform. In the web3 world, your information is stored on the blockchain, spread across many computers. This decentralized storage makes it tougher for problems or attacks to harm your data. Plus, you have more say over your own information. It's like having your data in a super secure, shared notebook instead of a single company's locked box. This means it's safer and you get to call more shots about your stuff.

I hope someone finds this insightful.
Thank you.
