UK cryptocurrency exchange EXMO crashed offline off by massive DDOS attack

The cryptocurrency exchange EXMO has been knocked offline by a massive DDOS attack. This has been confirmed by a UK-based agency. The exchange reported that on February 15, its website was unavailable for two hours and it was attacked by a denial of service or DDOS attack.

EXMO said it experienced an unusual amount of traffic at 16.10 GMT and the number of connections was temporarily hampering its operations. A spokesman for EXMO said previous DDOS attacks had only affected websites and that it was a massive attack - driving 30 gigabytes of traffic per second.
