The Day the Market Crashed

Image
Greeting,
Friday began like any normal day for my husband and me. We’re both active investors, so with our morning coffee, we sat down to watch the markets. Everything seemed steady at first, but within a few hours, the Sensex started to slide. It wasn’t just a dip—it was a freefall. By the end of the day, the Sensex had plunged 4147 points.

We sat there, stunned. Banking stocks crashed hard, and even reliable tech and pharma weren’t spared. Our portfolio, which we had built carefully over the years, was taking a serious hit. My husband, who’s usually calm under pressure, just shook his head and said, “This is worse than expected.”

We didn’t panic sell, knowing from experience that markets eventually recover. But watching the market fall so sharply was still a shock. It reminded us just how unpredictable investing can be, no matter how prepared you think you are.

That day was tough, no doubt, but we know that these moments are part of the investing game. Now, it’s just about riding out the storm and waiting for the markets to bounce back—as they always do.
I hope the market recovers on Monday.
Thank you
