"Something is happening!" - such an excited phrase can be heard under different circumstances with very different vectors of direction.
When something bad or something good happens this is a phrase of fear and a phrase of excitement.
When we are in a state of equilibrium or we are focused on something and stop noticing what is happening around us it may seem to us that nothing is happening around and the outside world is like a cosmic vacuum.
