Citibank to Axis Bank transition to be completed this month

Citibank sold its retail business last year and Axis Bank purchased its business. The transition was started last year and now it is at the last stage which is expected to be closed on 15th July 2024. It is understood that the transition process takes time and Since I am one of the Citibank users I have been getting all those updates from Axis Bank's side. I must appreciate that the Axis Bank has been trying to keep this transition as smooth as possible.

They have been sharing all the updates and stage-wise progress updates as well to keep the customers informed. Now they have announced that 15th July is the last day for the complete migration and post that all the services will be provided by Axis Bank. They have already changed the required information for example IFSC code etc and now if anybody is using the old code then the payment will not be successful.

Recently they changed the payment process for credit cards as well and since I had my Citibank card set up with X premium it failed. X does not accept one-time payments instead it goes on the auto renewal part of the premium subscription hence every month they deduct the amount from my credit card on a certain date but because there was some change from the bank side the payment was not successful and it failed.

I got an email from them that the payment was unsuccessful and I needed to update the billing information but I could not do so on the second day because I thought it would retry and probably should be done but that time I had no idea that this was happening due to some change from the bank end. Are you again getting an email last night that another attempt was unsuccessful I need to update the billing information to get the payment done and they also removed my bluetick due to non-receipt of payment.

This morning I updated my other card for the payment on X and now it is successful so I am waiting for Bluetick to come back. I can see the update that they are reviewing my account and hopefully, this should be done in a day but I'm not sure because I believe the process is slow for account review on X.

If you are using Citibank then you must pay attention to the update that the last migration is about to be closed on 15th July hence you are required to make some changes in your payment settings if any to ensure that there is no impact on auto debit or any standing instruction you have set up on your account or the credit cards. Post 15th July you should be able to access the services only through the Axis Bank mobile application or the web portal they are also going to replace the credit cards in the coming months.

Now since I have a couple of auto debits set up on my credit card so I am going to change all those as soon as possible to avoid further payment failure. I have done it already on X but there are a few services that I also need to manage and make the changes accordingly. Automatic debit is easy because it does not require manual intervention and payment is deducted according to the instructions that are set up but now is the time when I need to make some changes and I hope that once this migration is complete then the experience is going to be the same with Axis Bank.

Thank you
