DeSantis, The First American Governor To Ban CBDCs in One of The United States of America

Untitled.png

There has been a lot of talk lately around CBDCs, and recent stats show that over 100 central banks around the world are testing such currencies. It's only a matter of time before authorities try to introduce them as official currencies.

CBDCs have faced backlash from some of the most ardent supporters of decentralized cryptocurrency and from libertarians who fight against tyrannical governments' abusive legislation and totalitarian measures.

Governor Ron DeSantis is one of the few American politicians who support freedom and people's rights. He dismissed most of the ludicrous COVID measures during the pandemic and has now officially banned CBDCs in the state of Florida.

Yes, vote for DeSantis!

Although I'm not American, if I were to vote and DeSantis were a candidate, I'd put the stamp on his head. Either him or Robert Kennedy (more on him in a future post).

Regarding DeSantis and the law banning CBDCs in Florida, we don't have confirmation that such a digital currency, a government-issued and controlled digital currency, will come to fruition. But if it does, Florida citizens are somehow safe from it.

Following his introduction of the legislation, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has officially banned CBDCs in the state. Moreover, the new laws will “protect Floridians from the Biden administration’s weaponization of the financial sector through a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).”

In previous statements, DeSantis remarked that a government-controlled digital currency was “about surveillance and control.” Additionally, he noted his hope to “protect Florida consumers” from the implications of its arrival.

Specifically, the legislation is set to prohibit the use of any federally adopted CBDC as money within the Florida Uniform Commercial Code. Additionally, it has instituted protections against the alternative central global currency. Moreover, it has called on states to adopt similar legislation.

Why am I so against CBDCs? Because they're trying to replicate what cryptocurrencies do, but in a totalitarian manner. CBDCs, if they ever come into production, will actually be programmable money. What does that mean? First of all, they will have an expiration date and certain restrictions on how they can be spent, based on an individual's social profile and carbon credits (more on this in a future post). They will also be easily trackable and can be frozen in case of disobedience, among other things.

If CBDCs come to fruition, the freedoms that society once had will be abolished in part due to this form of money. The level of control that such currencies would give to a government is insane. Luckily, governors like Ron DeSantis have passed legislation forbidding such currencies to exist in states like Florida.
