It's a shame that a movie as fun as "The Fall Guys" had gone relatively unnoticed, considering that despite it being nothing special, it approaches its simplicity with a level of honesty that makes it quite easy to enjoy.

Conceived as a kind of remake of an eighties television series (from which the name of the protagonist and a couple of elements are taken), The Fall Guys tells us the story of a stuntman who ends up accidentally involved in a crime, for which must use his knowledge and skills to clear his name.

Starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt (which has been one of the most powerful duos I've seen in a blockbuster in a while, at least in terms of chemistry), The Fall Guy is built as a celebration of a sector of the entertainment industry that is usually very missing: that of stuntmen, all this while still providing a fun story that mixes moments of drama with humor very well.

The film directed by David Leitch is based on two fundamental pillars: the recurring use of spectacular action sequences and the imposing presence of Gosling in the protagonist role, who perhaps had not been part of such a hilarious script since the days of The Nice Guys alongside Russell Crowe.

Without breaking the fourth wall, The Fall Guy seems to wink at the audience regularly, interspersing the action sequences of the film itself, with those that its protagonists are developing for another film within the film... Although it sounds confusing, in the Practice is very easy to digest, and ends up feeling like it comes from a place that genuinely appreciates all those people who are a crucial part of action cinema and who often get ignored.

Es una pena que una película tan divertida como "The Fall Guys" hubiese pasado relativamente desaparecida, considerando que pese a no ser nada del otro mundo, abordar su simpleza con un nivel de honestidad que hace que sea bastante fácil disfrutarla.

Concebida como una especie de remake a una serie de televisión ochentera (De la cual se toma el nombre del protagonista y un par de elementos), The Fall Guys nos cuenta la historia de un doble de riesgos que termina envuelto accidentalmente en un crimen, por lo cual deberá utilizar sus conocimientos y habilidades para limpiar su nombre.

Protagonizada por Ryan Gosling y Emily Blunt (Lo que viene siendo una de las duplas más potentes que he visto en un blockbuster desde hace un buen rato, al menos en términos de química), The Fall Guy se construye como una celebración a un sector de la industria del espectáculo que suele pasar muy desaparecido: el de los stuntmans, todo esto sin dejar de brindar una historia divertida que mezcla muy bien los momentos de drama con el humor.

El filme dirigido por David Leitch se sustenta sobre dos pilares fundamentales: el uso recurrente de secuencias espectaculares de acción y la imponente presencia de Gosling en el rol protagonista, quien quizá no había formado parte de un guión tan hilarante desde los tiempos de The Nice Guys junto a Russell Crowe.

Sin llegar a romper la cuarta pared, The Fall Guys parece guiñar a la audiencia regularmente, entremezclando las secuencias de acción del propio filme, con las que sus protagonistas estas desarrollando para otra película dentro de la película... Aunque suena confuso, en la práctica es muy fácil de digerir, y termina sintiéndose como que viene de un lugar que genuinamente aprecia a todas esas personas que forman una parte crucial del cine de acción y que suelen ser ignoradas.
