En la actualidad existe un director de cine que puede crear división de opiniones con respecto a cada uno de sus trabajos; ese es Zack Snyder, el cual he disfrutado la mayoría de sus producciones en dónde ha creado hermosas imágenes y batallas épicas, siendo justamente lo que en muchas oportunidades es lo que ha generado negatividad hacia su trabajo. Pretencioso, sobrevalorado, el mejor y hasta a veces llamado genio, todo eso es lo que acompaña a cada opinión sobre Snyder, muchas veces juzgado sin ninguna objetividad, es una opinión o muy positiva o muy negativa y hago acotación a todo eso porque justamente en su último trabajo, es donde más que nunca quienes nos gusta el cine se necesita de más objetividad para opinar sobre el primer film de "Rebel Moon".

Seré completamente sincero al decir que "Rebel Moon" de Snyder, no era la película que más me llamó la atención de su repertorio; está opinión se hizo más fuerte al ver los trailers y es que como ha ocurrido en otros films, ese medio de promoción termina enseñando las mejores escenas del film y lamentablemente no estaba equivocado; yo soy quien piensa que este director tiene como enfoque crear momentos épicos en diferentes escenas, sea en un encuentro sexual como ocurrió en "Watchmen" o en las muchas escenas de batallas en sus otras películas y en esta oportunidad intenta nuevamente hacerlo, pero sin ningún efecto; no hubo ninguna escena impactante, no importó que tan grande puede ser un horizonte o cuántos enemigos se pueden derrotar dentro de un bar, no hubo nada que me hiciera pensar que fue algo destacable, no importó el uso del slow motion, lo cual no tuve ningún problema, es que creo que las coreografías en los combates no tuvo ninguna repercusión en mí y repito, los trailers hicieron daño porque no hubo nada nuevo que mostrar.
No diré que este film es una fiel copia de "Star Wars", esto lo digo porque en el mundo del cine, el servicio original cada es difícil, siempre hay una influencia marcada de otras producciones, siempre hay un material que funciona como base y hasta el mismo George Lucas tomó influencia en otras historias para hacer su mega franquicia y en defensa de lo que ideo Snyder y trataron de completar los otros guionistas, creo que "Rebel Moon" puede funcionar como una historia de la rebelión en Star Wars, en eso y en otros aspectos muy evidentes, creo que se nota similitudes entre ambas historias, ahora con respecto a esta historia en sí, la cual estoy convencido de que es sobre redención, sobre la lucha contra quienes crearon guerra y destrucción y crearon a personas que no pueden vivir de otra manera, sino ser víctimas y victimarios, en mi opinión no funciona para nada bien; posiblemente esta versión está afectada por el corte de una hora de metraje lo cual afecta a cada historia de los protagonistas, pero tengo dudas sobre si esa hora faltante puede mejorar esta historia que por muchos momentos me pareció aburrida.
I will be completely honest when I say that "Rebel Moon" by Snyder, was not the movie that caught my attention of his repertoire; this opinion became stronger when I saw the trailers and as it has happened in other films, this means of promotion ends up showing the best scenes of the film and unfortunately I was not wrong; I am the one who thinks that this director's approach is to create epic moments in different scenes, be it in a sexual encounter as it happened in "Watchmen" or in the many battle scenes in his other films and in this opportunity he tries to do it again, but without any effect; there was no shocking scene, it didn't matter how big a skyline can be or how many enemies can be defeated inside a bar, there was nothing that made me think it was something remarkable, it didn't matter the use of slow motion, which I had no problem with, it's just that I think the choreographies in the fights had no impact on me and I repeat, the trailers hurt because there was nothing new to show.
I will not say that this film is a faithful copy of "Star Wars", I say this because in the world of cinema, the original service each is difficult, there is always a marked influence of other productions, there is always a material that works as a base and even the same George Lucas took influence in other stories to make his mega franchise and in defense of what Snyder devised and tried to complete the other screenwriters, I think "Rebel Moon" can work as a story of the rebellion in Star Wars, in that and in other very obvious aspects, I think you can notice similarities between both stories, now with respect to this story itself, which I am convinced is about redemption, about the fight against those who created war and destruction and created people who can't live any other way but being victims and victimizers, in my opinion it doesn't work well at all; possibly this version is affected by the cutting of one hour of footage which affects every story of the protagonists, but I have doubts if that missing hour can improve this story that for many moments seemed boring to me.
Otro punto negativo en esta película son las actuaciones; no hay ningún personaje que destaque, que cree empatía en quien ve la película y que sienta que puede relacionarse y posiblemente eso se deba a la brutal y errática edición del film, pero en las actuaciones también influyen en los factores antes citados; personalmente tenía cierta expectativa en lo que debería representar el personaje de "Kora", interpretado por Sofia Boutella, su personaje debería ser la representación de la redención y está escrito de esa manera, pero es una historia muy mal relatada y no actuada de manera eficiente, lo mismo sucede con su contraparte, "Atticus Noble" interpretado por Ed Skrein; deficiente villano, nada amenazante, simple, mal desarrollado, es una lástima porque este actor ya ha hecho de villano principal en otro film e hizo un buen trabajo, pero en esta oportunidad no ofrece nada.

Rebel Moon en su primera parte, no es un buen film, es el que menos me ha gustado de todos los que ha dirigido Zack Snyder, me parece que la decisión de editar una hora de metraje le hizo más daño de lo que se ha visto en otros films de su repertorio; no es para nada destacable y de algunas de sus escenas de acción, solo me gustó la que sucede en el granero, de las demás no hay ninguna que puedo decir que hubo algo que destacable y repito y regreso al supuesto "Director Cut" que según debe mejorar todo lo visto, lo cual mis expectativas están si es cierto que puede arreglar el desastre que es esta versión estrenada por Netflix el pasado diciembre y por los momentos tengo dudas que eso puede ser así. Lo anteriormente dicho ni resta que quiero ver la segunda parte de Rebel Moon, no sé qué tan diferente o mejor sea de historia, que sea un buen complemento para que cierre ese capítulo deficiente en la introducción de este universo creado por Zack, mis expectativas están dirigidas a lo que puede ocurrir, a esperar que una vez por todas, está historia termine de funcionar.
