I have recently started watching classic animated movies to get out of my comfort zone. From a very young age I have been more of a fan of thrillers and horror, however, I did have my Disney phase. But all that was relegated to my 8 years when I started watching channels like Space, Universal Channel and Discovery Investigation.
Since I now have a two and a half year old sister, and I'm the one taking care of her, I have to adapt to start enjoying the classics of yesteryear as much as the new releases that are good for her training. For that reason I have downloaded several movies to enjoy with her after her learning hours. And to bring you reviews about very good movies to watch with the family, this time I will talk about Toy Story 2.

PLOT AND CHARACTERS
Surely everyone at some point in life has seen the Toy Story saga, a classic of classics. Released in the late 90's, with actors of the stature of Tom Hansk giving voice to characters and leaving a mark on the generation of 2000 onwards. I don't know when I first saw them, but it is an unforgettable production, both for its story and its iconic songs.
Although the first installment is one of the most acclaimed, I personally find the second one more interesting. Pixar's sequel takes us back to the world of toys, this time exploring the value of love and friendship.
The film follows Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of Andy's toys when Woody is kidnapped by an eccentric and ambitious toy collector. Throughout the plot, the characters face emotional dilemmas, situations that make them rethink what they believe in and keeps the viewer engaged, as we all discover the importance of sticking together and supporting each other.
This installment allows us to know especially the story of Buddy, a doll that also had his time in being the most beloved, with an interesting background, his own series and characters that complete his creation. We can see Buddy's struggle with his commitment to Andy and his friends, to the debt he feels with those who did not have him, giving more humanism to his character and making empathy with the public. Thanks to this installment we were also able to meet Jessie, who is the first important female character in the franchise, and she exists thanks to Nancy Lasseter, wife of the film's director, to whom she commented that this sequel should have a strong female character. John Lasseter listened to her and created Jessie.
The winks during the plot, paying homage to such franchises as Star Wars with the "I am your father" scene and a little more comedy after Buzz's story, brings smiles to everyone's faces. Then there's the nod to Jurassic Park with the scene of Rex running after the toy car. And we can also see many nods to Bugs: A Miniature Adventure, whose characters appear several times during the film.
Toy Story 2 had a significant impact on its generation by being one of the first animated films to feature a complex and moving narrative that resonated with children and adults alike. No sé cuándo fue la primera vez que las vi, pero es una producción inolvidable, tanto por su historia como por sus canciones icónicas.
Aunque la primera entrega es de las más aclamadas, personalmente la segunda me parece más interesante. La secuela de Pixar nos lleva de nuevo al mundo de los juguetes, esta vez explorando el valor del amor y la amistad.

Gracias a esta entrega también pudimos conocer a Jessie, quién es el primer personaje femenino importante en la franquicia, y existe gracias a Nancy Lasseter, esposa del director de la cinta, a quien le comentó que esta secuela debería tener un personaje femenino fuerte. John Lasseter la escuchó y creó a Jessie.
