Oh! Today I saw this contest, fortunately I'm still in time to participate so I can tell you about my favourite actor and actress, for whom I have great respect and deep admiration for their work throughout their careers. I hope you like my entry.
¡Rayos! Hoy fue que vi este concurso, afortunadamente aún estoy a tiempo para participar y poder así hablarles acerca de mi actor y actriz favoritos, por los cuales siento un gran respeto y una profunda admiración por sus trabajos a lo largo de sus carreras. Espero les guste mi entrada.
My favourite actor always was and always will be Alan Rickman, I feel that there is no one like him to play every character, he was unique when it came to put himself in the shoes of another person, and I think this is due to his acting training in the theatre, because it is there, on stage where quality actors learn to manage and transmit their emotions while the contact with the audience helps them to check in an immediate way how they get the message, I know this because I studied theatre for a while.
Mi actor favorito siempre fue es y será Alan Rickman, siento que no hay nadie como él para interpretar cada personaje, era único a la hora de ponerse en la piel de otra persona, y creo que esto se debe a su formación actoral en el teatro, ya que es allí, en el escenario donde los actores de calidad aprender a manejar y transmitir sus emociones mientras el contacto con el publico los ayuda a comprobar de una forma inmediata como captan el mensaje, lo sé ya que estudié teatro durante un tiempo.
In the theatre one learns various histrionic techniques that are very useful for the actor to perform better on stage, and one of the most famous is Stanislavski's, which focuses on voice intonation, facial gestures and body language, as well as using the actor's own feelings and experiences in order to interpret the character's feelings in a more realistic way. And it was certainly a resource that Alan used a lot in his performances, making a great impact on his audiences both in the theatre and in the cinema.
En el teatro se aprenden diversas técnicas histriónicas muy útiles para lograr que el actor tenga un mejor desenvolvimiento en escena, y una de las más famosas es la de Stanislavski, que se centra en la entonación de la voz, los gestos faciales y el lenguaje corporal, además de usar los propios sentimientos y experiencias del actor en aras de interpretar los sentimientos de su personaje de una manera más realista. Y ciertamente era un recurso muy usado por Alan a la hora de hacer sus interpretaciones, logrando un gran impacto en su audiencia tanto en el teatro como en las salas de cine.
One of Rickman's characters where this technique is most evident, in addition to the resource called "clown" (a method used by actors when playing comic characters or with a humorous touch, starting from their own physical or psychological characteristics, but exaggerating them) is undoubtedly the famous Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, I laughed a lot with this character because although he was a villain of the worst kind, manipulative and aggressive, even generating fear, sometimes when he was angry and very frustrated, he took his emotions to the limit, exaggerating his gestures and the tone of his voice to the point of being even comical.
Uno de los personajes de Rickman donde más se evidencia esta técnica, además del recurso llamado "clown" (es un método utilizado por los actores a la hora de interpretar personajes cómicos o con un toque humorístico, partiendo de sus propias características físicas o psicológicas, pero exagerándolas) es sin lugar a dudas el famoso Sheriff de Nottingham de Robin Hood, Príncipe de los Ladrones, me reí muchísimo con este personaje porque si bien era un villano de la peor calaña, manipulador y agresivo, llegando incluso a generar miedo, en ocasiones cuando se enojaba y se sentía muy frustrado, llevaba al límite sus emociones, exagerando sus gestos y el tono de su voz hasta resultar incluso cómico.
Hahaha I'll never forget those lines that made me laugh so much: "I'll cut your heart out with a spoon" then his cousin asks him "why with a spoon, cousin, why not with an axe?" to which the sheriff replies "because it's blunt and it hurts more" it's a scene that is even hilarious but has a psychological undertone as it shows how disturbed the evil Sheriff was.
Jajaja nunca olvidaré esas líneas que tanta risa me dieron: "Te cortaré el corazón con una cuchara" entonces su primo le pregunta "¿por qué con una cuchara, por qué no con un hacha?" a lo que el sheriff responde "porque no tiene filo y así duele más" es una escena que resulta incluso hilarante pero tiene un trasfondo psicológico ya que demuestra lo perturbado que estaba el malvado Sheriff.
Rickman was wonderful at playing villains but he also showed great skill at playing tender and romantic characters such as the gallant Colonel Brandom in Sense and Sensibility. It was truly an impeccable performance in his graceful gestures, his facial expressions, his slow yet precise movements, a real delight for those of us who had the opportunity to read Jane Austen's book and then see Rickman's performance on the big screen.
Rickman era maravilloso para interpretar villanos pero también demostró grandes habilidades a la hora de interpretar personajes tiernos y románticos como el galante Coronel Brandom de Sentido y Sensibilidad. De verdad que fue una interpretación impecable en sus gestos gráciles, sus expresiones faciales, sus movimientos lentos y al mismo tiempo certeros, un verdadero deleite para quienes tuvimos la oportunidad de leer el libro de Jane Austen y luego ver la interpretación de Rickman en la pantalla grande.
Another thing I loved about Rickman was his sarcasm and common expressions of disdain in most of his characters, even the good ones like Alex Hughes, expressions often used when his character didn't understand others or didn't agree with their ideas, I also liked his pauses in dialogue like in this scene, one of my favourites from Snow Cake.
Otra de las cosas que yo amaba de Rickman era su sarcasmo y comunes expresiones de desdén en la mayoría de sus personajes, incluso en los buenos como Alex Hughes, expresiones usadas a menudo cuando su personaje no comprendía a los demás o no estaba de acuerdo con sus ideas, también me gustaban sus pausas en los diálogos como en esta escena, una de mis favoritas de Snow Cake.
But how can we forget the famous and complex Severus Snape, my favourite character of all those played by Alan Rickman throughout his career, Severus Snape is an extremely difficult character to play as he is very ambiguous, he often hides his emotions and due to the plot twist we saw in the last Harry Potter film, we realised that not only Rickman had to act, but Severus Snape himself who was acting as a double spy, but Severus Snape himself who was acting as a double spy, so in order not to reveal his true allegiance, he had to pretend to be a loyal Death Eater and assassinate Dumbledore with apparent coolness, but when we go back to that particular scene, we can tell from the look in his eyes, the hesitation in his movements and even the tone of his voice, that it was an act he didn't mean to do.
Pero como olvidar al célebre y complejo Severus Snape, mi personaje favorito entre todos los que interpretó Alan Rickman a lo largo de su carrera, Severus Snape es un personaje extremadamente difícil de interpretar ya que es muy ambiguo, esconde sus emociones a menudo y debido al giro de trama que vimos en la última película de Harry Potter, nos dimos cuenta de que no solo Rickman tuvo que actuar, sino el propio Severus Snape quien fungía labores como doble espía, así que para que no quedara en evidencia su verdadera lealtad, tuvo que fingir ser un fiel mortífago y asesinar a Dumbledore con aparente frialdad, sin embargo cuando nos remontamos a esa escena en particular, podemos notar en la expresión de sus ojos, la vacilación de sus movimientos y hasta en el tono de su voz, que era un acto que no quería realizar.
There are many good actors, I know, but I don't think there will ever be one as good as Alan Rickman, let alone better than him, because he was unique and had a high degree of commitment to his work, he loved what he did and it showed, he was always very professional and as I said at the beginning he used his own emotions to his advantage to take his performances to another level, as was the case even with Severus Snape. Rickman was frustrated with the decisions the director was making about his character, also because the director didn't know the real background of the character as it was information that only Alan and J.K Rowling (the author of the Harry Potter books) knew, but he didn't let this affect him, he used it to his advantage.
Hay muchos actores buenos, lo sé, pero creo que nunca habrá alguno como Alan Rickman y mucho menos mejor que él porque era único y además tenía un alto grado de compromiso con su trabajo, amaba lo que hacía y eso se notaba, siempre fue muy profesional y tal y como dije al principio usaba sus propias emociones a su favor para llevar sus interpretaciones a otro nível, como sucedió incluso con Severus Snape. Rickman se sentía frustrado respecto a las decisiones que tomaba el director de la película en cuanto a su personaje, además porque el director no conocía el verdadero trasfondo del personaje pues era una información que solo manejaban Alan y J.K Rowling (la autora de los libros de Harry Potter) pero él no dejó que esto lo afectara, sino que lo usó a su favor.
On the other hand, my favourite actress is none other than the very talented Emma Watson, why? Because of her high commitment to each of her characters and because she is so versatile when it comes to playing them, be it the well-behaved and extremely studious Hermione Granger in Harry Potter or the disastrous Nicki in Bling Ring.
Por otra parte, mi actriz favorita no es otra más que la talentosísima Emma Watson, ¿por qué? por su alto compromiso con cada uno de sus personajes y porque es muy polifacética a la hora de interpretarlos, bien sea la bien portada y extremadamente estudiosa Hermione Granger en Harry Potter, o la desastroza Nicki en Bling Ring
One of my favourite characters was Belle in Disney's remake of Beauty and the Beast, as she brought so much of her personality to it and you could tell she loved the character, she felt like a fish in water because it was a great opportunity to take Belle to the next level, a young girl with thoughts ahead of her time, a dreamer and a thirst for knowledge. Emma gave her character much more than just a pretty face and graceful gestures, in fact you don't see much of the latter in her performance (except for the dance scene) but she brought a solidity to it and made it feel like a real character, at least in my opinion.
Uno de mis personajes favoritos fue Bella en el remake de La Bella y la Bestia de Disney, ya que ella le aportó mucho de su personalidad y se notó que amó el personaje, se sentía como pez en el agua porque fue una gran oportunidad de llevar a Bella al siguiente nivel, una joven con pensamientos adelantados a su época, soñadora y con sed de conocimientos. Emma le dio a su personaje mucho más que una cara bonita y gestos gráciles, de hecho no se ve mucho de esto último en su actuación (salvo por la escena del baile) pero le aportó solidez y lo hizo sentir como un personaje real, al menos en mi opinión.
Another character I loved for her depth was Lena, a woman with great inner strength, extremely brave, who decides to infiltrate a creepy cult in the midst of the conflict after the 1973 coup d'état in Chile, with the intention of searching for her husband, who was imprisoned for his revolutionary ideals. Emma gets into the skin of this character and makes it completely her own, transmitting all her emotions with ease.
Otro de los personajes que me encantó por su profundidad fue Lena, una mujer con una gran fuerza interna, valiente en extremo, que decide infiltrarse dentro de una secta escalofriante en medio del conflicto tras el golpe de estado de 1973 en Chile, con la intención de buscar a su marido, el cuál fue encarcelado por sus ideales revolucionarios. Emma se mete en la piel de este personaje y lo hace completamente suyo, transmitiéndonos con mucha facilidad todas sus emociones.
Her body language, her facial expressions, the tone she gave to her dialogue made this one of her best performances (at least in my humble opinion).
Su expresión corporal, sus gestos faciales, el tono que le imprimió a sus diálogos hizo de ésta una de sus mejores interpretaciones (al menos en mi humilde opinión)
But I will never forget Hermione (my favourite character) as this character is imbued with the essence of Watson, a studious and very logical girl, sometimes she may seem cold and a bit closed in her way of thinking, but she definitely has a big heart and above all she is loyal. Having grown up with this character, Emma Watson made it very much her own and knew him well because she knew him to perfection.
Pero nunca podré olvidar a Hermione (mi personaje favorito) ya que este personaje está impregnado de la esencia de Watson, una chica estudiosa y muy lógica, aveces puede parecer fría y un tanto cerrada en su forma de pensar, pero definitivamente tiene un gran corazón y sobre todo es leal. Al haber crecido con este personaje, Emma Watson lo hizo muy suyo y supo compenetrarse bien con él porque lo conocía a la perfección.
One of the things I loved most about this character was his smug expressions when he gave a correct answer in class, Emma gave him a distinctive touch and it's definitely what I imagined when I read the books.
Una de las cosas que más me gustaban de este personaje eran sus expresiones de suficiencia cuando daba una respuesta correcta en clases, Emma le dio un toque característico y definitivamente es lo que imaginé cuando leí los libros.
There is still a long way to go in Emma Watson's career, but so far she has proven herself to be a great actress and has grown professionally, proving herself to be up to her character of Hermione as the years went by and as her character required more energy and depth as she developed, but at the same time she has risen to new acting challenges with each of the characters she has had to play.
Aun queda mucho por delante de la carrera de Emma Watson, pero hasta ahora ha demostrado ser una gran actriz y además ha crecido muchísimo profesionalmente, demostrando estar a la altura de su personaje de Hermione conforme pasaban los años y el mismo requería mayor energía y profundidad de acuerdo a su desarrollo, pero al mismo tiempo ha estado a la altura de nuevos retos actorales con cada uno de los personajes que ha tenido que interpretar.
