2 Broke girls definitely has to be one of my favorite tv series. Not just because it’s a comedy series, it depicts the fact that as you’re going through life and striving to find your footing you’d always encounter problems, it’s more realistic and shows us that life isn’t really a movie.

This series is about two girls from two totally different worlds. One( Max Black) played by Kat Dennings comes from a poor family with no trace of her dad for as far back as she can remember and a mum who abandoned her later in life. The second (Caroline Channing) played by Beth Behrs is a billionaire’s daughter who became poor due to the actions of her dad. They both work in a dinner in order to raise funds for a cupcake business they have in sight, but only one thing stands in their way- They’re broke!

At the diner where they work they’re surrounded by their weird, funny and annoying “work family”. There’s Oleg; he’s the flirty cook( played by Jonathan Kite), Han; the small Asian who is also the owner of the diner but then tries to please everyone (played by Matthew Moy), Earl; the hip 75 year old cashier who was once a musician (played by Garrett Morris) and then there’s Sophie; Max and Caroline’s overly outrageous Polish upstairs neighbor(played by Jennifer Coolidge).

Would Max and Caroline finally realize their dream of owning their own successful cupcake business? Would they meet up with their $250,000 startup money?

To be honest I’m just half way through season 1. So far it’s been an interesting series. It’s genre is more of a thriller.

“You” answers the question; What would you really do for love? It portrays a bookstore manager- Joe Goldberg(played by Penn Badgley) who meets an aspiring writer- Love Quinn(played by Victoria Pedretti). It started as a crush that turned into the manager’s obsession. He uses every possible means; social media, internet, physical etc to try to become close to her and goes to the extent of removing any obstacle (people included) in his way. This series has been nothing but an entertaining thrill ride from the first episode. Would Joe finally have Quinn to himself?

EMILY IN PARIS

I can tell you all that I finished all two seasons of Emily in Paris in 3 days. That’s how intriguing it was. It’s more of a comedy and drama series. It portrays Emily( played by Lily Collins), an American who moves down to France to give an American perspective in a French marketing firm; Savoir. Emily struggles to strike a balance between being accepted in her workplace(due to the fact she’s American and not French) and in finding love.

As Emily tries to get her colleagues at work to like her, her American boss pays a visit to Savoir. One thing leads to another and Emily is left with a decision- to either stay in Paris or go back to America.

On the otherhand, she has two love encounters and is a bit confused. There’s Gabriel who is a French chef(played by Lucas Bravo). Gabriel is dating Emily’s friend Camille( played by Camille Razat) but is in love with Emily. And then there’s Alfie(played by Lucien Laviscount) who is an English guy from England who has also come to Paris to work. He met Emily in a French class they both take together. Now Emily is torn apart; Gabriel or Alfie? Where does her heart belong? Is Gabriel worth staying in France for? Would she move to England for Alfie? Would she be able to do long distance between either of them if she goes back to America?

THE SMART MONEY WOMAN

The smart money woman is a Nigerian series. This series is based of a book “The Smart Money Woman” by Arese Ugwu. It tells the tale of five glamorous women in their millennials as they strive for success while they juggle healthy living, career, love, relationships, marriages. These women along the line tried to spend money wisely due to the financial problems they encountered. But could they all keep up with making “smart money woman” moves or not?

There’s zuri(played by Osas Ighodaro), she works in a marketing firm. Zuri found her life falling apart after breaking up with her wealthy boyfriend in the first episode. Would she learn to manage her expenses properly and stick to a strict budget? She later meets a man “Tshola” (played by Eso Dike Okolocha) and they end up dating.

We also have Tami(played by Ini Dima Okojie). A well known tailor and fashion designer who owns a brand but it’s sponsored by her rich daddy due to her spending habits. Would she finally be able to pay her rent from her business and cut down on her expensive lifestyle?

Thirdly Lara(played by Toni Tones)who works in an oil company . She is really a smart money woman, she manages her expenses very well. Maybe a little too well, she gives more of her earnings to her family and rarely spends on herself.

Fourthly, Adesuwa(played by Kemi Lala Akindoju) is a lawyer married to an unemployed man(Soji).

Lastly, Ladun(played by Ebenezer Eno) is married to a very wealthy man. He ends up loosing his family’s wealth through the death of his father. Can Ladun cope after being used to luxury? Would her husband bounce back?
