Saludos, feliz comienzo de semana.
Estoy nuevamente por aquí y aprovecho de disculparme por la ausencia, he tenido dos semanas retadoras y difíciles sin parar en casa, aunque muy pendiente en Hive, informándome y escribiendo en algunos tiempos libres porque desde que me enteré del concurso: ¿Qué programas de televisión amas?, me dije: ¡quiero participar!.
Esta sería la primera vez que me atrevo a sumarme a un concurso de la comunidad, particularmente porque me llevó a evocar muchos recuerdos bonitos sobre programas que veía desde niña hasta ahora, si deseas participar puedes revisar, apoyar y sumarte en este enlace, aunque ya queda poco tiempo.
Ahora bien, para mí el concurso ha sido un proceso que me ha provocado vueltas a la cabeza y conmoción a mi corazón los últimos días, en el intento de lograr identificar qué programas me gustan, durante este proceso me di cuenta de que me gustaron muchos programas enfocados en lo sobrenatural y ciencia ficción, aunque casi siempre prefería más las películas.
No obstante, durante los últimos años he tenido acceso a suscripciones de streaming que me ha permitido engancharme con algunas series, especialmente de ciencia ficción, romance y de estilo histórica, que entre lo cotidiano sorprende con la fantasía, el suspenso, el amor o la magia para lograr generar una combinación algo inusual, interesante y divertida.

Progresivamente, identifiqué dos series que me gustaron mucho, incluso me di cuenta de que me encargué de recomendar una de ellas, a través de algunos comentarios en la comunidad, como es The OA, que hasta ahora es la serie que más me ha gustado, igualmente, escogí Outlander una serie larga que me gustaría también comentar por su trama novelística envolvente. Si bien, ambas producciones tienen una línea de ficción y fantasía que podrían asumirse con gran escepticismo, yo advierto que escribo con total subjetividad sobre este tema, porque es el encanto y la libertad que permite la interpretación de cualquier persona espectadora.

I am here again and I take this opportunity to apologize for the absence, I have had two challenging and difficult weeks without stopping at home, although very pending in Hive, informing myself and writing in some free time because since I heard about the contest: What TV shows do you love, I said to myself: I want to participate!
This would be the first time that I dare to join a community contest, particularly because it led me to evoke many beautiful memories about programs that I watched since I was a child until now, if you want to participate you can review, support and join in this link, although there is little time left.
Now, for me the contest has been a process that has made my head spin and my heart pound the last few days, in an attempt to identify which programs I like, during this process I realized that I liked many programs focused on supernatural and science fiction, although I almost always preferred movies more.
However, during the last few years I have had access to streaming subscriptions that has allowed me to get hooked with some series, especially science fiction, romance and historical style, which among the everyday surprises with fantasy, suspense, love or magic to achieve generate a somewhat unusual, interesting and fun combination.
Progressively, I identified two series that I liked a lot, even I realized that I took it upon myself to recommend one of them, through some comments in the community, as is The OA, which so far is the series that I liked the most, likewise, I chose Outlander a long series that I would also like to comment for its involving novelistic plot. Although, both productions have a line of fiction and fantasy that could be assumed with great skepticism, I warn that I write with total subjectivity on this subject, because it is the charm and freedom that allows the interpretation of any viewer.

The OA
The OA es una serie estadounidense con trama desacostumbrada, cuenta con dos temporadas de 8 capítulos cada una, se estrenó en el año 2016, aunque yo la vi 5 años después porque una amiga me la recomendó. Para agregarle suspenso ni siquiera quise ver el tráiler, la ubiqué en Neflix y vi el primer capítulo de 1 hora y 10 minutos, el cual luego de comenzar a ver no pude esperar por continuar con los demás, puesto que desde los primeros 40 segundos The OA es intriga y misterio que incorpora la ciencia ficción y la fantasía.
La serie gira en torno a la desaparición de una persona y el misterio que hay detrás de esto, sobre todo cuando la protagonista principal de la serie llamada Prairie, una mujer que desapareció desde hace 7 años sin que se supiera ninguna noticia de ella, un día regresa de una forma extraña e inesperada causando mucha conmoción, sin explicar nada sobre donde estuvo, asegurando textualmente: “no desaparecí, estuve presente todo el tiempo”, además que con su regreso causa otro gran misterio: ¿por qué al momento de desaparecer era ciega y ahora no?.
Durante la primera temporada se desarrolla la trama para aclarar algunas cosas y complicar otras, progresivamente se van incorporando otros personajes importantes de la serie, quienes juegan un rol relevante para los propósitos o “sensaciones” de Prairie, en volver a cruzar inexplicables fronteras que le faciliten encontrar a alguien.
Ella, a veces de maneras inesperadas, demostraba una atractiva sabiduría que me fue atrapando en torno a un tema muy interesante como: la conceptualización de lo sobrenatural y la muerte, desde una perspectiva rara e interesante, que algunos momentos llegaba a confundir, hasta que en la segunda temporada todo se torna más interesante y abre un universo de complejas conexiones, entre el tiempo, el espacio y las personas.
The OA
The OA is an American series with an unusual plot, it has two seasons of 8 chapters each, it premiered in 2016, although I saw it 5 years later because a friend recommended it to me. To add suspense I didn't even want to watch the trailer, I located it on Neflix and watched the first chapter of 1 hour and 10 minutes, which after starting to watch I couldn't wait to continue with the others, since from the first 40 seconds The OA is intrigue and mystery that incorporates science fiction and fantasy.
The series revolves around the disappearance of a person and the mystery behind it, especially when the main protagonist of the series called Prairie, a woman who disappeared for 7 years without any news of her, one day returns in a strange and unexpected way causing much commotion, without explaining anything about where she was, assuring textually: "I did not disappear, I was present all the time", also with her return causes another great mystery: why at the time of disappearing she was blind and now she had vision?
During the first season the plot develops to clarify some things and complicate others, progressively incorporating other important characters of the series, who play a relevant role for Prairie's purposes or "sensations", in crossing again inexplicable frontiers that make it easier for her to find someone.
She, sometimes in unexpected ways, demonstrated an attractive wisdom that trapped me around a very interesting topic: the conceptualization of the supernatural and death, from a strange perspective, which at times was confusing, until the second season when everything becomes more revealing and opens a universe of complex connections between time, space and people.
Me atraparon varios aspectos de la serie de los que hago el esfuerzo por describir, reitero que inevitablemente va cargado con algunos sesgos, ya que es característico que me involucre con algunas historias, así que como parte de mi opinión considero que me gustó:
La Creatividad:La serie utilizó la ciencia ficción, que si bien no inventaron algo diferente a ideas ya desarrolladas en otras producciones, pienso que lograron mostrar otras posibilidades y salidas en cuanto a muchas preguntas que algunas personas nos hacemos sobre qué hay más allá del plano físico.
La narrativa: la serie se va relatando independiente de la línea del tiempo que conocemos, se narra la historia detrás de la historia para transmitir algún mensaje que desde mi punto de vista es más trascendental que cada personaje en específico, aunque intenta persuadir sobre el desarrollo de algunas capacidades y habilidades humanas especiales que aparentemente son comunes, pero podrían tener una procedencia más poderosa de lo que imaginamos.
Yo visible/ yo invisible: es interesante la reflexión aportada en la serie sobre la polaridad del mundo visible (todo lo físico o externo) y nuestro yo invisible (todo lo que no se ve), tales como: los anhelos, los deseos y los sueños que residen en nuestro interior. El reto es tejer ese equilibrio a partir de nuestras decisiones, es decir, nuestra voluntad y toma de conciencia del aquí y ahora para darle prioridad al interior.
La muerte: La serie se aventura sobre la experiencia de muerte desde el estado de la conciencia, abarcando otras implicaciones que supera la idea “de morir para siempre” incluso me encantó una llamativa frase del primer capítulo que dice: “todos morimos más veces de las que se pueda contar”, de allí que la primera temporada introduce lo que en toda la segunda temporada logra ahondar el tema de la muerte, para hacernos viajar a lo impensable.
Conexiones: Me gusta mucho el final épico de la primera temporada, ya que complementa a través de la música y la danza la conexión física e intangible, yo por mi parte lo describo como una performance, es decir, una propuesta artística, sutil y angelical que no abusó de efectos especiales e integró elementos creativos para mostrar una de los hechos más reveladores de la serie para mí, de hecho lloré mucho mientras vi más de 10 veces ese capítulo, porque exaltaba esperanza en un mundo tan denso. Posteriormente, en la segunda temporada comienza la intensidad y complejidad de la historia, donde me gusta especialmente que se honra la necesaria conexión con la naturaleza mediante una representación metafórica y atrayente, además de la evolución de algunos personajes, siento que de eso trata el mensaje en sí mismo de The OA: el cambio individual para el bien común, el cual es una propuesta que desde mi perfil como mujer de ciencias sociales creo mucho.
Otros datos: en cuanto a la producción no soy muy buena crítica, pero quiero rescatar como datos adicionales que me encantó la musicalización de esta serie, para mí es simplemente celestial, aun cuando los colores fríos de la serie generan permanentemente esa sensación de suspenso e intriga, especialmente en la primera temporada. Sobre la actuación, Brit Marling quien le da vida a la protagonista y es co-creadora de The OA, ha trabajado también en películas como la Otra Tierra y Orígenes (que me encantan), siempre se mantiene dentro de ese estilo hacia el enfoque sobrenatural que personalmente me gusta porque ella tiene una postura crítica entre el mundo espiritual y físico que se logra ver durante la serie, esa magia inmersa en los hechos cotidianos, que mediante el trabajo intencional de fotografía, juegan con la mente para sentir la historia cercana y posible.
I was caught by several aspects of the series of which I make the effort to describe, I reiterate that it is inevitably loaded with some biases, as it is characteristic that I get involved with some stories, so as part of my opinion I consider that I liked it:
Creativity: The series used science fiction, and although they did not invent something different from ideas already developed in other productions, I think they managed to show other possibilities and ways out of many questions that some people ask about what is beyond the physical plane.
The narrative: the series is told independently of the timeline we know, the story behind the story is told to convey some message that from my point of view is more transcendental than each specific character, although it tries to persuade about the development of some special human abilities and skills that apparently are common, but could have a more powerful origin than we imagine.
Visible self / invisible self: it is interesting the reflection provided in the series on the polarity of the visible world (everything physical or external) and our invisible self (everything unseen), such as: the longings, desires and dreams that reside within us. The challenge is to weave that balance from our decisions, that is, our will and awareness of the here and now to give priority to the inner self.
Death: The series ventures into the experience of death from the state of consciousness, covering other implications that goes beyond the idea of "dying forever", I even loved a striking phrase in the first chapter that says: "we all die more times than we can count", hence the first season introduces what in the entire second season manages to delve into the idea of dying, to make us travel to the unthinkable.
Connections: I really like the epic ending of the first season, as it complements through music and dance the physical and intangible connection, I for my part describe it as a performance, that is, an artistic, subtle and angelic proposal that did not abuse of special effects and integrated creative elements to show one of the most revealing facts of the series for me, in fact I cried a lot while watching more than 10 times that chapter, because it exalted hope in such a dense world. Subsequently, in the second season begins the intensity and complexity of the story, where I especially like that the necessary connection with nature is honored through a metaphorical and appealing representation, in addition to the evolution of some characters, I feel that this is what the message itself of The OA is about: individual change for the common good, which is a proposal that from my profile as a woman of social sciences I believe a lot.
Other data: as for the production I am not a very good critic, but I want to rescue as additional data that I loved the musicalization of this series, for me it is simply heavenly, even when the cold colors of the series permanently generate that feeling of suspense and intrigue, especially in the first season. About the acting, Brit Marling who gives life to the protagonist and is co-creator of The OA, has also worked in films like The Other Earth and Origins (which I love), always stays within that style towards the supernatural approach that I personally like because she has a critical stance between the spiritual and physical world that you get to see during the series, that magic immersed in everyday events, that through the intentional work of photography play with the mind to feel the story close and possible.
Cuando terminé de ver las 2 temporadas de The OA en aquella oportunidad busqué inmediatamente conocer cuando vendría la tercera temporada, al comenzar a investigar y leer me entero de que la serie había sido cancelada por Neflix, en su momento viví el duelo post-serie, esta vez sin la esperanza de saber el desenlace de algunas cosas, porque aunque algunas cosas se explican otras dejan abiertas muchas preguntas, si bien, la plataforma tendrá sus razones que ya conocemos generalmente al cancelar una serie, siento que fue desestimada y no se dio la oportunidad de culminar las temporadas que estaban planificadas.
Soy de las que todavía tiene locas esperanzas de que se retome este proyecto, me encantaría saber que más pasó en esa historia, ojalá en un futuro cercano se pueda retomar y continuar con esta historia que es todo un universo.
When I finished watching the 2 seasons of The OA in that opportunity I immediately sought to know when the third season would come, when I started to investigate and read I found out that the series had been canceled by Netflix, at the time I lived the post-series mourning, this time without the hope of knowing the outcome of some things, because although some things are explained others leave many questions open, although, the big producer will have their reasons that we usually know when canceling a series, I feel that it was dismissed and was not given the opportunity to complete the seasons that were planned.
I am one of those who still have crazy hopes that this project will be retaken, I would love to know what else happened in that story, hopefully in the near future it can be retaken and continue with this story that is a whole universe.

Outlander es otra serie que seleccione y me gusta mucho, porque consiste en la mezcla de elementos históricos locales que permiten viajar y conocer un poco de Inglaterra, Escocia y otros lugares, para aventurarnos a lo largo de la serie, en la fantasía, la cual está lejos de ser ciencia ficción, más se sumerge en el drama y el romance donde figura una mujer llamada Claire que va narrando su propia historia en retrospectiva.

Otras de las cosas que me gustaron de la serie son las ambientaciones, los vestuarios de la época, los paisajes naturales, la fotografía y la musicalización, además que viene a mezclarse con lo fantasioso. Sin duda, me mantuvo sumergida por largo tiempo, ha sido de las pocas series que me despertaba temprano o acostaba a avanzadas horas de la noche para ver un capítulo tras otro.
Vale destacar que, Outlander se estrenó en el año 2014, está basada en la novela “la Forastera” de Diana Gabaldón, que la verdad no he leído, la serie además ha sido nominada y premiada en algunas oportunidades entre el año 2014 hasta 2018 por importantes casas de premiaciones.

Other things I liked about the series are the settings, the costumes of the time, the natural landscapes, the photography and the musicalization, plus it comes to mix with the fantastical. Undoubtedly, it kept me immersed for a long time, it has been one of the few series that I woke up early or went to bed late at night to watch one chapter after another.

Las primeras temporadas me gustaron mucho, aunque la cuarta y especialmente la quinta estuvieron bastante dramáticas, recuerdo haber tenido una conversación sobre la serie con unas amigas y estuvimos en desacuerdo con el final de la quinta temporada, porque a mí particularmente no me gustó el giro que dio la historia, aunque indudablemente es una realidad que aún vivimos socialmente y es posible que ni siquiera la propia serie se acerque a cómo ha sido la oscuridad de las intenciones humanas, particularmente en contra de las mujeres.

Desde mi perspectiva, la ciencia ficción y la fantasía contribuyen a generar supuestos y versiones con salidas diferentes, frente a situaciones que algunas personas vivimos y callamos por miedo hacer juzgadas, que si bien no hay explicaciones lógicas, cada día hay más historias conmovedoras sobre estos temas que ocurren particularmente desde la niñez o cualquier momento inesperado a lo largo de nuestras vidas, los cuales generalmente son evaluados desde la salud mental como problemas psicológicos, particularmente un tema que se desarollara en The OA.
Mientras hacía esta publicación me di cuenta de que ambas series tienen que ver con la desaparición de personas y cómo este hecho está asociado a situaciones no comunes que ocurren de manera inexplicable para transmitir algún mensaje que cada quien pueda interpretar a su antojo. Estas series tocaron mis fibras emocionales y la imaginación, sin desapegarme de esa mirada humanista y social que me hace ubicar algunos elementos reflexivos, sobre aquellas cosas que nos hacen tan humanamente incomprensibles, logrando desarrollar historias como estas, que más allá de negar o aceptar una única realidad, se intenta dar apertura a las infinitas posibilidades.

From my perspective, science fiction and fantasy contribute to generate assumptions and versions with different outcomes, facing situations that some people live and keep quiet for fear of being judged, that although there are no logical explanations, every day there are more moving stories about these issues that occur particularly from childhood or any unexpected moment throughout our lives, which are generally evaluated from the mental health as psychological problems, particularly a topic that will be developed in The OA.
While making this publication I realized that both series have to do with the disappearance of people and how this fact is associated with uncommon situations that occur inexplicably to convey some message that everyone can interpret at will. These series touched my emotional fibers and imagination without detaching myself from that humanistic and social look that makes me place some reflective elements, about those things that make us so humanly incomprehensible, managing to develop stories like these, that beyond denying or accepting a single reality, it tries to give openness to the infinite possibilities.
