Holiii, estoy muy feliz de que, al fin, estamos en Octubre; este mes es uno de mis preferidos del año debido a que mi festividad favorita es el Halloween y paso todo el año pensando como planeando mi disfraz para esa noche, así no haga nada, igual me encanta disfrazarme.
Lamentablemente no he podido ir a muchas Spooky Partys, generalmente, pasaba mis Halloween en casa viendo películas o especiales en la tv; gracias a esto, hay muchas películas de Halloween que son muy importantes para mí y en este post voy a hablar de ellas. Mayormente son películas infantiles debido a que yo soy de consumir mucho contenido de Disney, Nickelodeon y/o Cartoon Network, en pocas palabras, son una niña grande.
Holiii, I'm so happy that, at last, we are in October; this month is one of my favorite of the year because my favorite holiday is Halloween and I spend all year thinking how to plan my costume for that night, even if I don't do anything, I still love to dress up.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to go to many Spooky Partys, usually, I spent my Halloween at home watching movies or specials on tv; thanks to this, there are many Halloween movies that are very important to me and in this post I'm going to talk about them. Mostly they are children's movies due to the fact that I consume a lot of Disney, Nickelodeon and/or Cartoon Network content, in short, they are a big girl.
Los Locos Addams (1991)
Voy a empezar con el plato fuerte, esta ha sido una de mis películas favoritas desde que soy muy niña, crecí admirando a Morticia Addams y deseando verme como ella cuando fuese adulta, así como también, añoraba que mi pareja fuese como Homero Addams.
Han sido mi pareja ideal desde mi infancia y, aún, siguen siéndolo; me siento demasiado realizada y sé que mi yo del pasado estaría muy orgullosa porque, en parte, he adoptado mucho de la estética de Morticia como mi relación actual con @ilazramusic es tan mágica e intensa como la de Homero y ella. Uno de mis sueños aún no cumplidos es poder disfrazarme de Homero y Morticia con mi pareja para Halloween, aun no se nos ha dado la oportunidad, debido a que este es solo nuestro segundo Halloween juntos y ya teníamos disfraces pensados pero ya le comenté el tema y para el próximo año será nuestro disfraz.
The Addams Family (1991)
I'm going to start with the main course, this has been one of my favorite movies since I was a very little girl, I grew up admiring Morticia Addams and wishing I could look like her as an adult, as well as longing for my partner to be like Gomez Addams.
They have been my ideal partner since my childhood and, still, remain so; I feel overly fulfilled and I know my past self would be so proud because, in part, I have adopted much of Morticia's aesthetic as my current relationship with @ilazramusic is just as magical and intense as Gomez and her. One of my unfulfilled dreams is to be able to dress up as Gomez and Morticia with my partner for Halloween, we haven't been given the opportunity yet, because this is only our second Halloween together and we already had costumes thought of but I already told him about it and for next year it will be our costume.
Apartando mi sentimentalismo, esta película me parece increíble, es graciosa, extraña, perturbadora, intensamente romántica, morbosa y con un intenso humor negro; mi personaje favorito, después de Homero y Morticia, es Dedos, ese sí que es el verdadero MVP de toda la película.
Merlina y Pericles son increíbles, si viviremos en ese mundo, muy seguramente mi hermana mayor y yo fuésemos así porque, en la vida real, nos jugábamos un poco rudo "para ser niñas".
Apart from my sentimentalism, I find this movie incredible, it's funny, strange, disturbing, intensely romantic, morbid and with an intense black humor; my favorite character, after Gomez and Morticia, is Thing, that's the real MVP of the whole movie.
Wednesday and Pugsley are amazing, if we lived in that world, most likely my older sister and I were like that because, in real life, we played a little rough "to be girls".
El Extraño Mundo de Jack (1993)
Esta película es una de mis predilectas de Disney, más por el hecho de que se puede disfritar tanto en Halloween como en Navidad.
Jack fue uno de mis primeros crush animados de mi vida, hasta llegué a identificarme con el muchísimo y, en una oportunidad, me disfrace de él pero, lamentablemente, esas fotos se perdieron al dañarse mi anterior computadora.
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
This movie is one of my favorite Disney movies, more for the fact that it can be enjoyed both on Halloween and Christmas.
Jack was one of my first animated crushes in my life, I even identified with him a lot and, on one occasion, I dressed up as him but, unfortunately, those pictures were lost when my previous computer got damaged.
Me encanta lo sarcástico que es Jack, su ingenio y carisma, como también, su inocencia y compasión; sé que al principio era un ser despiadado, pero es el rey de Halloween, ¿qué esperan?
Su redención es increíble y sus musicales aún más, todas esas canciones pasaron a la historia como un gran clásico de Halloween; aparte de Jack, mi otro personaje favorito es Oogie Boogie, siento que representaron muy bien un personaje sumamente terrorífico para todos los niños.
I love how sarcastic Jack is, his wit and charisma, as well as, his innocence and compassion; I know he was a ruthless being at the beginning, but he is the king of Halloween, what do you expect?
His redemption is incredible and his musicals even more, all those songs went down in history as a great Halloween classic; apart from Jack, my other favorite character is Oogie Boogie, I feel they represented very well an extremely terrifying character for all children.
Hocus Pocus (1993 y 2022)
Abracadabra es un clásico indiscutible de Halloween, toda persona que haya nacido entre los 90's y los 2000 vio está película todos los años en Octubre por Disney Channel.
La verdad que es increíble esta producción, a pesar que tiene ciertas incongruencias y los efectos especiales son los típicos de la época, sigue siendo una película que disfrutas ver sin importar cuántas veces ya la hayas visto; creo que como a toda persona que siente atracción por las mujeres, sentimos un crush intenso por Sarah y la verdad que ella fue una de las responsables de que yo empezara a cuestionar mi heterosexualidad, a pesar de que era una niña.
Hocus Pocus (1993 y 2022)
Hocus pocus is an undisputed Halloween classic, everyone who was born between the 90's and 2000 saw this movie every year in October on Disney Channel.
The truth is that this production is incredible, even though it has certain incongruities and the special effects are typical of the time, it is still a movie that you enjoy watching no matter how many times you have already seen it; I think that like everyone who is attracted to women, we feel an intense crush for Sarah and the truth is that she was one of those responsible for me to begin to question my heterosexuality, even though I was a girl.
Cuando anunciaron la secuela yo no tuve muchas esperanzas pero me llevé una hermosa sorpresa cuando la vi con mi Mo @ilazramusic y resultó ser una película increíble; tanto que la agregué a mi lista de películas para ver en Halloween y creo que, todavía no tengo seguridad pero, puede superar a la primera, de verdad.
Obviamente, por el factor nostalgia, siempre vamos a preferir la primera entrega; con esta fue que conocimos a las hermanas Sanderson y nos enamoramos de ella pero, esta segunda entrega, te revive ese amor que sientes por las brujas y más porque te explican un poco su origen como, también, le dan un cierre de personajes muy adecuado, para mí, fue el mejor cierre que le pudieron dar a las hermanas Sanderson. When they announced the sequel I didn't have high hopes but I got a beautiful surprise when I saw it with my Mo @ilazramusic and it turned out to be an amazing movie; so much so that I added it to my list of movies to watch on Halloween and I think I'm not sure yet but it can really surpass the first one.
Obviously, for the nostalgia factor, we will always prefer the first installment; it was with this one that we met the SandersonBold sisters and fell in love with them but, this second installment, revives that love you feel for the witches and more because they explain a little of their origin as, also, they give a very appropriate character closure, for me, it was the best closure they could give to the Sanderson sisters. Hotel Transilvania (2012)
Esta película solo me gusta si la veo doblada, en su idioma original no me transmite tantas emociones como con las voces en español; realmente no sé porqué pasa esto debido a que la primera vez que la vi fue en su idioma original, pero al verla doblada me encantó, realmente desconozco si es porque no me gusta Adam Sandler o por otra razón que desconozco.
Como se habrán dado cuenta, me encanta la estética gótica así que Mavis fue una de los muchos personajes a quienes le he robado partes de su estilo para adaptarlos al mío, de hecho, estuve muchos meses considerando cortarme el flequillo de esa manera pero yo detesto los flequillos así que nunca lo hice pero sí me hice un corte parecido.
Hotel Transylvania (2012)
I only like this movie if I see it dubbed, in its original language it doesn't transmit me as many emotions as with the Spanish voices; I really don't know why this happens because the first time I saw it was in its original language, but when I saw it dubbed I loved it, I really don't know if it's because I don't like Adam Sandler or for another reason that I don't know.
As you may have noticed, I love gothic aesthetics so Mavis was one of the many characters from whom I have stolen parts of her style to adapt them to mine, in fact, I was considering for many months to cut my bangs that way but I hate bangs so I never did it but I did get a similar cut.
Otra cosa que amé de esta historia es el tema del "click" porque soy una enamorada empedernida y siempre soñé con encontrar ese click, ahora que soy adulta y entiendo muchas cosas que de niña no comprendía, entendí que lo importante no es solo hacer click con una persona, sino cuidar y construir una relación sana como estable con la persona que haces click.
Todo esto lo entendí gracias a @ilazramusic debido a que él es mi click y eso solo me ha motivado a cuidar de él como trabajar en función a nuestra relación para que funcione hasta que el tiempo deje de ser tiempo.
Another thing I loved about this story is the theme of "zing" because I'm a hardcore lover and I always dreamed of finding that zing, now that I am an adult and I understand many things that as a child I didn't understand, I understood that the important thing is not only to zing with a person, but to take care and build a healthy and stable relationship with the person you zing.
I understood all this thanks to @ilazramusic because he is my zing and that alone has motivated me to take care of him and work on our relationship so that it works until time stops being time.
Monster House (2006)
Admito que de pequeña no me gustaba nada esta película porque sí me daba mucho miedo, debido a que Horace Nebbercracker se parecía a un vecino de mi calle y verlo después de esta película, me hacía llorar demasiado por el miedo que me causaba creer que eran el mismo.
Ya de adolescente empecé a agarrarle el gusto a la película y a entender muchos trasfondos de los que uno no se percata de pequeño, como lo peligroso que puede ser el acoso o "bullying".
Aunque sea animada, sí te llega a causar algo de miedo este film, o al menos a mí sí; sobre todo la parte en que la casa se levanta y empieza a perseguirlos a todos, eso es demasiado inquietante para mí y todavía me causa ciertas incomodidades ver esas escenas.
Monster House (2006)
I admit that when I was little I didn't like this movie at all because it was very scary, because Horace Nebbercracker looked like a neighbor on my street and seeing him after this movie made me cry too much because of the fear it caused me to believe that they were the same.
As a teenager I began to like the movie and to understand many undertones that one doesn't realize as a child, such as how dangerous bullying can be.
Although it is animated, this film does cause you some fear, or at least it did for me; especially the part where the house rises and starts to chase them all, that is too disturbing for me and still causes me some discomfort watching those scenes.
Scooby-Doo (2002)
En todo el sentido de la palabra, yo crecí viendo esta película, mi abuela paterna la tenía en dvd para que yo la viera todas las tardes mientras me cuidaba; amo con locura a Scooby y Shaggy, han sido personajes tontos que me han marcado muchísimo y, básicamente, son parte fundamental de mi infancia.
Este película me encanta, más allá de haber crecido con ella es porque, de verdad, es una buena película y que, de paso, tiene mejores efectos especiales que Marvel en la actualidad así que la considero como una película muy adelantada a su época; es muy gracioso verla ya de adulto porque entiendes demasiadas referencias que de niño pasaban por alto, referencias mayormente para adultos y eso hace que puedas disfrutar la película en cualquier etapa de tu vida.
Scooby-Doo (2002)
In every sense of the word, I grew up watching this movie, my paternal grandmother had it on dvd for me to watch it every afternoon while she took care of me; I love Scooby and Shaggy madly, they have been silly characters that have marked me a lot and, basically, they are a fundamental part of my childhood.
I love this movie, beyond having grown up with it is because it is a really good movie and, by the way, it has better special effects than Marvel nowadays so I consider it as a movie ahead of its time; it is very funny to watch it as an adult because you understand too many references that as a child were overlooked, references mostly for adults and that makes you can enjoy the movie at any stage of your life.
Coraline (2009)
No es una película de Halloween pero quería agregarla debido a que me encanta, es tan extraña, perturbadora e inquietante que tenía que agregarla a esta lista debido a que me recuerda mucho a El Extraño Mundo de Jack, no solo por el Stop Motion sino porque es una trama oscura y con muchos trasfondos.
Considero que esta película, realmente, no es para niños debido a que puede llegar a asustar muchísimo, casi traumo de por vida a mi hermana menor por querer enseñarle esta película; la Otra Madre es realmente espeluznante incluso para personas de más edad.
Coraline (2009)
It's not a Halloween movie but I wanted to add it because I love it, it's so strange, disturbing and disturbing that I had to add it to this list because it reminds me a lot of The Nightmare Before Christmas, not only because of the Stop Motion but because it's a dark plot with a lot of undertones.
I consider that this movie is really not for children because it can be very scary, I almost traumatized my younger sister for life for wanting to show her this movie; the Other Mother is really creepy even for older people.
Realmente no recuerdo que edad tenía la primera vez que vi Coraline pero sí sé que era una niña todavía u me inquietó bastante la idea de que pudiera existir una doble malvada de mi mamá, eso sumándole al hecho de que en casa de mi abuela había una puerta pequeña que estaba clausurada porque, antes, ahí estaba la casilla de electricidad de la casa.
No le tengo fobia a las arañas pero su aspecto es bastante incomodo de ver, sin embargo, de todo, creo que lo que más me perturbo fueron los ojos de botón, realmente no sé el porqué pero si me causó muchas pesadillas ese detalle.
I don't really remember how old I was the first time I saw Coraline but I do know that I was still a child and I was quite disturbed by the idea that there could be an evil double of my mom, that added to the fact that in my grandmother's house there was a small door that was closed because, before, there was the electricity box of the house.
I don't have a phobia of spiders but their appearance is quite uncomfortable to see, however, out of everything, I think what disturbed me the most were the button eyes, I really don't know why but that detail caused me many nightmares.
Obviamente tengo muchísimas más películas que pudiera agregar, pero no quiero hacer la lectura pesada; estas siete películas formaron parte importante de mi infancia, adolescencia y hasta la adultez, hoy en día las sigo disfrutando como la primera vez que las vi.

Obviously I have many, many more films that I could add, but I don't want to make heavy reading; these seven films were an important part of my childhood, adolescence and even adulthood, and I still enjoy them today as I did the first time I saw them.
