A veces, hay películas que más que contar una historia, te llevan a una experiencia que puede, para bien o para mal, causar muchas sensaciones en todo el rato que dura la película, o incluso, si está bien hecha, hacer que te lleves esas sensaciones para después. Este tipo de películas no son muy populares y tampoco se ven mucho, por lo que me parecen una joya, una aguja en un pajar. Pero además de parecerme peculiares, también me parece que son para un público muy específico, por lo que a pesar de hablar de ellas en este post, vengo a recomendarlas con una gran advertencia: es muy posible que no te gusten. Este tipo de películas no son para todo el mundo, pero solo el hecho de que existan ya es muy interesante, por lo que quiero, aunque sea solo en un post, recomendar tres:

Sometimes, there are films that more than telling a story, take you to an experience that can, for better or worse, cause many sensations in the whole time the film lasts, or even, if it is well done, make you take those sensations for later. This kind of films are not very popular and are not seen much either, so they seem to me a jewel, a needle in a haystack. But besides seeming peculiar to me, I also think they are for a very specific audience, so despite talking about them in this post, I come to recommend them with a big warning: it is very possible that you will not like them. This kind of movies are not for everyone, but just the fact that they exist is already very interesting, so I want, even if only in one post, to recommend three of them:
Skinamarink
Cuando hablamos de cine que transmita sensaciones, el terror es uno de los géneros que más se adapta a esto, ya que no es un punto de vista subjetivo decir que hacer sentir mal a las personas es más fácil (y hay más técnicas) que hacerlas sentir bien, esto es un hecho. Pero Skinamarink hace esto y lo multiplica a la última potencia, ya que este largometraje se basa prácticamente en planos estáticos que nos llenan de una incertidumbre que pocas películas logran en tan poco tiempo. Realmente es una película que si te gusta, termina siendo una de las experiencias más extrañas que vas a encontrar en una película, ya que, sin casi diálogos, historia o música, la película solo busca incomodar y de cierta forma lo logra, tanto por sus largos planos como por su montaje y sus encuadres. Esta es una de esas películas que son tan de nicho que me da un poco de miedo mencionarla, pero si estoy hablando de cine que transmita más que muestre, esta es una de esas películas.
Skinamarink
When we talk about cinema that transmits sensations, horror is one of the genres that best suits this, since it is not a subjective point of view to say that making people feel bad is easier (and there are more techniques) than making them feel good, this is a fact. But Skinamarink does this and multiplies it to the ultimate power, as this feature is practically based on static shots that fill us with an uncertainty that few films achieve in such a short time. It really is a film that if you like it, ends up being one of the strangest experiences you will find in a movie, since, with almost no dialogue, story or music, the film only seeks to make you uncomfortable and in a way it succeeds, both for its long shots and for its editing and framing. This is one of those films that are so niche that I'm a little afraid to mention it, but if I'm talking about films that transmit more than show, this is one of those films.
Los reyes del mundo
Aquí una película que si recomiendo con ojos cerrados. Lo hago por varias razones, pero la principal es porque es una película colombiana y siento que la gente necesita ver más cine latino, y esta tiene fácil acceso ya que está distribuida por netflix. Una película sobre unos marginados que buscan su derecho a unas tierras, con unas imágenes que transmiten tanto que me es imposible no pensar en ellas sin dejar de sentirme ensimismado, y con un cast lleno de personas no actores que la rompen con unos papeles que no podían haber quedado en otras personas.
Kings of the world
Here is a movie that I do recommend with eyes closed. I do it for several reasons, but the main one is because it is a Colombian film and I feel that people need to see more Latin cinema, and this one has easy access since it is distributed by Netflix. A film about marginalized people who seek their right to some land, with images that transmit so much that it is impossible for me not to think about them without feeling engrossed, and with a cast full of non-actors who break it with roles that could not have been left to other people.
Cabeza borrador
La primera película de David Lynch es rara, y eso es mucho decir si hablamos de una película de David Lynch. Fue una película que vi hace unas semanas porque unos amigos y yo hicimos pijamada para ver varias películas de terror, y la primera película que vimos fue esa. A varios no les gustó, pero a mí me pareció una clase magistral de lo que busca una parte del cine, el hecho de crear una experiencia en el espectador, más allá de contarle una historia. Sin duda, una película increíble que a pesar de no llevar a nada, te lleva de la mano a un viaje de sensaciones y emociones que no muchas películas pueden hacer.
eraserhead
David Lynch's first film is weird, and that's saying a lot when you're talking about a David Lynch film. It was a movie I saw a few weeks ago because some friends and I had a sleepover to watch several horror movies, and the first movie we saw was that one. Several didn't like it, but I thought it was a master class in what a part of cinema is looking for, the fact of creating an experience in the viewer, beyond telling a story. Undoubtedly, an incredible film that despite not leading to anything, takes you by the hand to a journey of sensations and emotions that not many films can do.
