Winter stands equal to hibernation modus here. Everything stands still for a bit more and since there is a lot less to do outside here, there is way more inside time all of a sudden.
I am not particularly fond of watching a lot of telly honestly, but if I go for it these grey weeks, why not watch something that is totally useless and just easy to digest. There is enough time during the day for serious stuff already, better take it a bit easier while turning on something and wait until it entertains you.
Winter full of love
On the Dutch television there has been a program over the last 2 or 3 years called 'B&B full of love' ('B&B vol liefde' in Dutch) which is about a couple of B&B owners who are seeking for love. Candidates go over their B&Bs and join them into their daily lives to see if living abroad in a B&B is some kind of life for them.
Since the show was so successful in the summer season (there would be a daily episode all throughout the summer), the makers also decided to make a winter version of the show called 'Winter full of love'. Same concept, different setting. Here you will have single B&B owners living in the snow on the hunt for a love partner in their lives.

So with all of these B&B owner singles, contestants send videos of themselves that they are interesting in dating, the owners chooses a couple of singles who they would like to drop by, and a couple of weeks later this happens and it is time for popcorn.
Sometimes they will send in 1 single who stays alone for multiple days, sometimes they will send more singles in a shorter span of time. The owner doesn't now when they arrive and can not prepare for it. It also means that sometimes there are more than 1 single in the house while a starting love was already starting to form. The conversations, the setting, it is all awkward feeling like a peeper watching this and I love it!!
The awkwardness continues
All of a sudden someones ex from before drops in, taking a lot of history in the suitcase ofcourse. One contestant who is in his 50's turns out he isn't able to cook a meal. One contestant has more manipulative narcissistic behavior than anyone knew...It feels like a set up by the makers, and I really don't care about it.
As said: it is all aout easy digest and entertainment!

After binging the final episodes this week the new black hole of nothing is here again. As said, I am not ashamed at all that I love watching this kind of pulp which doesn't give you anything more than easy entertainment.
Apparently there is already a subscription for a new season where you can see the new B&B owners for next year and respond on their videos.
I can only hope it will be the same amount of success again, bring me more of this garbage!!
