Bienvenidos mis queridos buzos viajeros del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, el mar es una de las cosas más hermosas que hay y sus profundidades no se quedan atrás, no obstante todo esto puede cambiar rápidamente con cualquier inconveniente, siendo ademas que estr se acentuará por la ausencia de oxígeno, esto es exactamente el concepto que maneja “The Dive” debido a que se enfoca en un problema acontecido en las profundidades. Sin más que agregar prepárense para sumergirse pues estamos por comenzar.
The Dive is a German film released this year, directed by Maximilian Erlenwein, produced by Augenschein Film, Falkun Films, among others, it has a duration of 1 hour and 31 minutes. It is a survival thriller, the story focuses on two sisters who are on a trip together with the purpose of diving, there is some friction between them because they have not seen each other for a long time and due to past issues, despite everything they continue with their plan, the thing is that during the dive a collapse happens and one of them is trapped under rubble, so her sister has to do everything possible to help her sister before her oxygen tank runs out.
The Dive es un filme alemán estrenado este año, dirigida por Maximilian Erlenwein, producida por Augenschein Film, Falkun Films, entre otras, posee una duración de 1 hora y 31 minutos. Es un thriller de supervivencia, la historia se centra en dos hermanas que se encuentran realizando un viaje juntas con la finalidad de bucear, existe cierta fricción entre ellas debido a que llevan tiempo sin verse y por asuntos del pasado, pese a todo continúan con su plan, el asunto es que durante el buceo sucede un derrumbe y una de ellas queda atrapada debajo de escombros, por lo que su hermana tiene que hacer todo lo posible por ayudar a su hermana antes de que se agote su tanque de oxígeno.

The soundtrack is quite disturbing, throughout the film you can perceive how it seeks to accompany the various moments of tension, something that it is good at, so in general terms the section fulfilled its purpose.
La banda sonora es bastante inquietante, a lo largo del filme se puede percibir como esta busca acompañar los diversos momentos de tensión, algo que se le da bien por lo que a grandes rasgos el apartado cumplió su cometido.
The world building seeks to be dark and confusing, a large part of the film takes place underwater so the setting is only reduced to precisely that, it is not the most spectacular thing there is but it adapts to what the premise is in general for what is right.
La construcción de mundo busca ser oscura y confusa, gran parte del filme se desarrolla bajo el agua por lo que la ambientación solo se reduce a precisamente eso, no es lo más espectacular que hay pero se adapta a lo que la premisa es en general por lo que está bien.
The plot is quite adrenaline and is loaded with moments of great tension that make you on the edge of your seat, all of this in itself is quite interesting and the fact that it has time limits makes it a little more intriguing. Narratively there is not much to analyze, it is a stressful situation without further ado, so there is no greater complexity in the matter, there is a certain desire to develop another story based on the characters but this does not turn out well and I will delve into it further later. The duration is correct, it gives you enough time to capture everything you want without it becoming tedious or anything like it.
La trama es bastante adrenalínica y se encuentra cargada de momentos de mucha tensión que te hacen estar al filo del asiento, todo esto de por sí es bastante interesante y el hecho de que ponga límites de tiempo lo hace un poco más intrigante. Narrativamente no hay mucho que analizar, es una situación estresante sin más, por lo que no hay mayor complejidad en el asunto, existe cierto deseo de desarrollar otra historia a raíz de los personajes pero esto no sale bien y lo profundizaré más adelante. La duración es la correcta, le da el tiempo suficiente como para plasmar todo lo que quiere sin que se torne tediosa ni nada que se le asemeje.
This is the weakest point of the film, its characters are terrible due to the fact that it tries to force the relationship through things that it never shows on screen, for some reason there is a certain friction between the sisters that makes no sense, in turn, they lack of a halfway decent characterization that gives meaning to said conflict so it is only an element that confuses unnecessarily, it would have been better to just focus and develop the characters from the crisis they were experiencing without any kind of added things that do not contribute nothing relevant.
Este es el punto más flaco del filme, sus personajes son terribles por el hecho de que intenta forzar la relación por cosas que nunca muestra en pantalla, por algún motivo existe cierta fricción entre las hermanas que carece de sentido, a su vez, estas carecen de una caracterización medianamente decente que le dé sentido a dicho conflicto por lo que solamente es un elemento que confunde sin necesidad, hubiese sido mejor solo enfocar y desarrollar a los personajes a partir de la crisis que vivían sin ninguna clase de cosas añadidas que no aportan nada relevante.
The Dive has some well-made moments of tension that allow a certain degree of immersion into the crisis they are experiencing, however it foolishly stumbles into spending time on things that contribute nothing. It is for all of the above that it deserves 2.5 stars out of 7, it is not boring but the fact that it incorporates unnecessary things ends up weighing it down.
The Dive tiene algunos momentos de tensión bien logrados que permiten cierto grado de inmersión sobre la crisis que se encuentran experimentando, no obstante se tropieza tontamente con el hecho de dedicarle tiempo a cosas que no aportan nada. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2.5 estrellas de 7, no es aburrida pero el hecho que incorpore cosas innecesarias le termina pesando.
