Hello, hello, hello to all fans of good stories. This time I want to share with you all a new review with my opinions of the Cobra Kai series... well, this has been a really nostalgic trip, as a Karate Kid fan since I was a kid, I had at first my doubts about this whole series. But I must say that it has surprised me... the whole way they manage to pick up the story 34 years later is just innovative and cool, they offer a quite unique and mature perspective of the characters we have already known... What impressed me the most is how the series has managed to balance all the nostalgia with an extremely modern and relevant story, we get to see Daniel Larruso and Johnny Lawrence back on screen....

It's interesting to see how some good themes are explored, like everything related to failure, redemption, and the different shades between good and evil... so that we can identify more with what has been happening in the course of this story. We can see all the evolution that Lawrence has had and we can see him go through several changes in his life, and how he is currently trying to rebuild himself. It is very nice to see how they are giving a new perspective to an extremely complex and human character... it is interesting to see how both characters and also new characters start to fight against their own demons and preconceptions of everything they thought they knew... I think it is an interesting way to hook the viewers.

En esta ocasión les quiero compartir a todos ustedes una nueva reseña con mis opiniones de la serie Cobra Kai.. bueno, este ha sido un viaje realmente nostálgico, como fan de Karate Kid desde niño, tenía al principio mis dudas sobre toda esta serie. Pero debo decir que me ha sorprendido.. toda la forma en la que se logra retomar la historia 34 años después es simplemente innovadora y genial, ofrecen una perspectiva bastante única y madura de los personajes que ya hemos conocido.. Lo que más me ha impresionado es como la serie ha logrado equilibrar toda la nostalgia con una historia sumamente moderna y relevante, podemos ver a Daniel Larruso y a Johnny Lawrence de nuevo en pantalla...

Es interesante ver como se exploran algunos temas buenos, como todo lo relacionado al fracaso, la redención, y los distintos matices entre el bien y el mal.. de manera que podamos identificarnos más con lo que ha ido ocurriendo en el transcurso de esta historia. Podemos ver toda la evolución que ha tenido Lawrence y podemos verlo pasar por varios cambios en su vida, y como actualmente está intentando reconstruirse. Es muy agradable ver como le están dando una nueva perspectiva a un personaje sumamente complejo y humano.. es interesante ver como ambos personajes y también nuevos personajes empiezan a luchar contra sus propios demonios y preconceptos de todo lo que creían saber.. creo que es una manera interesante de enganchar a los espectadores.

It's great to see a new generation of characters introduced. Miguel, Robby, Sam, and the rest of the new cast are not just copies of their predecessors, but characters with their own interesting developmental arcs. I love how the series managed to explore current issues...things like bullying, peer pressure, and the search for identity is a bit typical, but the way it's approached I found it quite unique. Cobra Kai is not afraid to question the simplistic morality of the original movie, it shows us that there really aren't absolute good guys or bad guys, but people making difficult or somewhat controversial decisions... I found this moral complexity refreshing, and it makes the series much more complex, and not just a simple character story where the important thing is just to see people beating each other up.

The action and fight choreography is another high point, I think the fight scenes are exciting and relatively well executed...they keep all that original spirit of the franchise, but it gives them a much more dynamic feel. It's great to see how the actors have worked really hard to do amazing, and above all believable, things in their roles as martial artists. The humor I also really enjoyed, the series knows exactly when to take itself seriously and when to laugh at itself... all the nods to 80's culture and references to the original movies I thought were hilarious. Johnny struggling to adapt to the modern world also provides some of the most hilarious moments in the story.

Es genial ver como se introduce una nueva generación de personajes. Miguel, Robby, Sam, y el resto del elenco nuevo no son simples copias de sus predecesores, sino que son personajes con sus propios arcos de desarrollo interesantes. Me encanta como la serie logró explorar temas actuales.. cosas como el bullying, la presión social, y la búsqueda de la identidad es algo un poco típico, pero la manera en la que se aborda me pareció bastante único. Cobra Kai no teme en cuestionar la moralidad simplista de la película original, nos muestra que realmente no hay buenos o malos absolutos, sino personas tomando decisiones difíciles o algo controversiales.. esta complejidad moral me pareció refrescante, y hace que la serie sea mucho más compleja, y no una simple historia de carácter donde lo importante es solo ver a gente pegarse.

La acción y las coreografías de lucha son otro punto alto, creo que las escenas de combate son emocionantes y relativamente bien ejecutadas.. mantienen todo ese espíritu original de la franquicia, pero les da un toque mucho más dinámico. Es genial ver como los actores han trabajado realmente duro para hacer cosas increíbles, y sobre todo creíbles, en sus roles como artistas marciales. El humor también me gustó mucho, la serie sabe perfectamente cuándo tomarse en serio y cuándo reírse de sí misma.. todos los guiños a la cultura de los ochenta y las referencias a las películas originales me parecieron divertidísimos. Johnny luchando por adaptarse al mundo moderno proporciona también algunos de los momentos más hilarantes dentro de la historia.

The whole production seemed to me to be of very high quality, in terms of photography, music, all these things contribute to create an atmosphere that feels like they are paying homage to the eighties, but it doesn't feel adequate at all.... For example, the soundtrack is a really nostalgic trip, which complements the story perfectly, however, sometimes I feel that the series falls into some clichés of typical teenage stories.. this can be a bit predictable and therefore boring. Also some narrative arcs feel a bit stretched, especially in the second and third season, but hey, I think these are minor things, I guess it lacked a bit more versatility, but it's not necessarily a bad thing...

I think it serves perfectly to align viewers who aren't familiar with the franchise.. and while it has a few minor nitpicks, it really achieves something special. It revives a beloved franchise, in a way that respects everything original, while offering something totally new, but also exciting.. it's an example of how to do a sort of soft reboot done right. That not only appeals to nostalgia, but also manages to sell itself a compelling and original story.

Toda la producción me pareció de mucha calidad, en cuanto a la fotografía, la música, todas estas cosas contribuyen a crear una atmósfera que se siente como si homenajearan a los ochenta, pero no se siente para nada adecuada.. Por ejemplo, la banda sonora es un viaje realmente nostálgico, que complementa perfectamente la historia, sin embargo, a veces siento que la serie cae en algunos clichés de las típicas historias de adolescentes.. esto puede ser un poco predecible y, por lo tanto, aburrido. También algunos arcos narrativos se sienten un poco estirados, especialmente en la segunda y tercera temporada, pero bueno, creo que son cosas menores, supongo que le faltó un poco más de versatilidad, pero no es necesariamente algo malo..

Creo que sirve perfectamente para alinear a los espectadores que no están familiarizados con la franquicia.. y aunque tiene unos pequeños detalles, logra realmente algo especial. Que no solo apela a la nostalgia, sino que también se encarga de venderse una historia convincente y original.

Cobra Kai also does a really good job of tackling interesting topics like fatherhood and how our past relationships can have really lasting circumstances or consequences.. we get to see Johnny and Daniel struggle with their roles as inventor fathers in an interesting way, which certainly gives some shades of depth to their characters never seen before.... Among other things I really liked about the series is how it plays with some expectations, it makes us really question who the good guys and bad guys are... I think it feels much more realistic this way.

As for the acting, wow! The young actors do a fantastic job bringing all their characters to life and it's a pleasure to see how they all develop with each other over the seasons, it's easy to connect with them and if you're a young person you'll probably identify with a lot of things they go through.. it's a series that strikes a perfect balance between nostalgia and current relevance. It's exciting, funny, poignant and surprisingly deep, offering action, drama and a bit of comedy.... All mixed together in a very well crafted work that can satisfy both fans of the original franchise and any new viewers. I give it a rating of 8.5/10.

It's a series that I highly recommend, especially if you're a fan of the Karate Kid movies, but even if you're not there's a lot to enjoy here.. You can start watching it without any commitment and you may end up getting hooked as many other people have. This series shows us that sometimes it pays to look back a bit but especially only when you want to bring something back fondly but with a lot of creativity. I hope you liked this review. Cobra Kai también hace un muy buen trabajo abordando temas interesantes como la paternidad y cómo nuestras relaciones pasadas pueden tener circunstancias o consecuencias realmente duraderas.. podemos ver a Johnny y a Daniel luchar con sus roles como padres inventores de una manera interesante, que sin duda le da unos matices de profundidad a sus personajes nunca antes vistos.. Entre otras cosas que me gustaron mucho de la serie es cómo juega con algunas expectativas, mos hace cuestionar realmente quiénes son los buenos y los malos.. creo que se siente mucho más realista de esta manera.

En cuanto a la actuación, ¡Wow! Los jóvenes actores hacen un trabajo fantástico dando vida a todos sus personajes y es un placer ver cómo todos se desarrollan entre sí a lo largo de las temporadas, es fácil conectar con ellos y si eres una persona joven probablemente te identifiques con muchas cosas por las que ellos pasan.. es una serie que logra un equilibrio perfecto entre la nostalgia y la relevancia actual. Es emocionante, divertida, conmovedora y sorprendentemente profunda, ofrece acción, drama y un poco de comedia.. Todo mezclado en una obra muy bien elaborada que puede satisfacer tanto a los fans de la franquicia original como a cualquier otro nuevo espectador. Yo le doy una calificación de 8.5/10.

Es una serie que recomiendo mucho, especialmente si eres fanático de las películas de Karate Kid, pero incluso si no lo eres hay mucho que disfrutar aquí.. Puedes empezar a verla sin ningún compromiso y puedes acabar enanchándote como muchas otras personas lo han hecho. Esta serie nos demuestra que a veces vale la pena ver un poco al pasado pero especialmente solo cuando se quiere traer algo de vuelta con cariño pero con mucha creatividad..
