Last year when I reviewed the series about the Spanish Nacho Vidal I had warned you that soon Netflix would release a series inspired by the life of another iconic adult film actor. The actor who went on to swell the history of that genre defenestrated by many.
Success. Fame. Money. Women. Sex. Behind all that there are flesh and blood people. There are dysfunctional families. There are problems, traumas, shortcomings. Sometimes we think that those who have all that success and recognition live an incredible life. It is true that money helps a lot to cope with problems, but it is not full happiness. The board of life is capricious. It can give us many satisfactions, but it also takes away something in return. Nothing is free in life, not even being the best at something. To get to the top of the mountain you have to make sacrifices. Often giving up what we want.
This is the perspective the series offers by showing how Rocco became an idol. Admired by thousands of men who wish they were in his place. Someone who has been with more than four thousand actresses throughout his career. A man who is also desired by women. It is clear that this is a series that neither extreme feminists nor the woke generation will like. Live your crazy and leave others alone. By the way, I find it strange that the series is from Netflix, a platform that dances to the tune of progressives.
El año pasado cuando reseñé la serie sobre el español Nacho Vidal os había advertido que pronto Netflix estrenaría una serie inspirada en la vida de otro icónico actor del cine para adultos. El actor que pasó a engrosar la historia de ese género defenestrado por muchos.
El éxito. Fama. Dinero. Mujeres. Sexo. Detrás de todo eso hay personas de carne y hueso. Hay familias disfuncionales. Hay problemas, traumas, carencias. A veces pensamos que los que tienen todo ese éxito y reconocimiento viven una vida increíble. Es cierto que el dinero ayuda mucho a sobrellevar los problemas, pero no es la felicidad plena. El tablero de la vida es caprichoso. Puede darnos muchas satisfacciones, pero también nos quita algo a cambio. Nada es gratis en la vida, ni siquiera ser el mejor en algo. Para llegar a la cima de la montaña hay que hacer sacrificios. A menudo renunciando a lo que queremos.
Esta es la perspectiva que ofrece la serie al mostrar cómo Rocco se convirtió en un ídolo. Admirado por miles de hombres que desearían estar en su lugar. Alguien que ha estado con más de cuatro mil actrices a lo largo de su carrera. Un hombre que también es deseado por las mujeres. Está claro que esta es una serie que no gustará a las feministas extremas ni a la generación woke. Vive tu locura y deja a los demás en paz. Por cierto, me extraña que la serie sea de Netflix, una plataforma que baila al son de los progres.

It is a series about the internal conflicts of a man who seeks the happiness that seems to have been denied to him and that since he was a child he set as a goal, inspired by that Supersex he saw in an erotic magazine. He didn't have an easy life, he wasn't born in a golden cradle, but that didn't stop him from becoming the best at what he knew how to do.

El lado humano del personaje. Su vida familiar y sobre todo ese triángulo tóxico con su hermanastro mayor Tommaso y Lucia. Una mujer que le marcaría desde su infancia. Un primer amor imposibilitado por las circunstancias. La búsqueda de Rocco por descubrir el verdadero amor. ¿No es eso lo que todos buscamos? La imposibilidad de encontrar la felicidad y alternarla con esa insaciable necesidad sexual que le llevará a la cima de la industria.
No es una serie sobre el cine para adultos. Es una serie sobre los conflictos internos de un hombre que busca la felicidad que parece habérsele negado y que desde niño se propuso como meta, inspirado por aquel Supersex que vio en una revista erótica. No tuvo una vida fácil, no nació en cuna de oro, pero eso no le impidió convertirse en el mejor en lo que sabía hacer.
Aldssandro Borghi plays the Italian stallion impeccably. He even achieves a physical resemblance. The smile, the charisma and the sadness of a well-built character. I knew this actor from the Suburra series and he has completely convinced me in his role as Rocco. Jasmine Trinca and Adriano Giannini in the roles of Lucia and Tommaso are the ones who strengthen the story.
It may seem that in some episodes the story seems to get sidetracked, as a lot of attention is given to Tommaso's life with Lucia, as well as to the character of Sylvie, played by the beautiful Jade Pedri. But this detail does not tarnish the effort that has been made to make the story engaging. The creator Francesca Manieri, known above all for her work as a screenwriter, which is where her filmography has stood out the most, is in charge of it.
Surely many will not see it, and will label it as bad without having seen it, just because of the subject it deals with. The social hypocrisy in relation to adult films is abysmal. As with the issue of prostitution, many people who judge and condemn those who work with their sexuality are actually the main consumers. This is something I have personally compared. People with influence and who want to be holier than the gods or saints they revere, but who love and consume what they condemn out of their mouths.
I was satisfied and could not leave without recommending it, although I know that most of you who read me will have no idea who the hell this man is. It won't cost you anything to do a Google search.

Alessandro Borghi interpreta impecablemente al semental italiano. Incluso logra un parecido físico. La sonrisa, el carisma y la tristeza de un personaje bien construido. Conocía a este actor por la serie Suburra y me ha convencido completamente en su papel de Rocco. Jasmine Trinca y Adriano Giannini en los papeles de Lucia y Tommaso son los que refuerzan la historia.
Puede parecer que en algunos episodios la historia parece desviarse, ya que se presta mucha atención a la vida de Tommaso con Lucia, así como al personaje de Sylvie, interpretado por la bella Jade Pedri. Pero este detalle no empaña el esfuerzo que se ha hecho para que la historia resulte atractiva. De ello se encarga la creadora Francesca Manieri, conocida sobre todo por su labor como guionista, que es donde más ha destacado su filmografía.
Seguramente muchos no la verán, y la tacharán de mala sin haberla visto, sólo por el tema que trata. La hipocresía social en relación al cine para adultos es abismal. Al igual que ocurre con el tema de la prostitución, muchas personas que juzgan y condenan a quienes trabajan con su sexualidad son en realidad los principales consumidores. Es algo que he comparado personalmente. Personas con influencia y que quieren ser más santas que los dioses o santos que veneran, pero que aman y consumen lo que condenan de la boca para afuera.
Quedé satisfecho y no podía irme sin recomendarlo, aunque sé que la mayoría de los que me leen no tendran ni idea de quién demonos es este hombre. No les costara nada hacer una búsqueda en Google
No te llenes de prejuicios absurdos y busca la serie en Netflix. Es corta, entretenida y emotiva. Ojalá decidan hacer una segunda temporada. Si la viste cuéntame qué te pareció en los comentarios.
