Last weekend looking for a movie to end my busy day I stumbled upon this movie that was released in August of 2024. It is a psychological drama that trapped me in a surreal world.
I am not a lover of this kind of genre, but I must be honest the director managed to catch me and I watched the movie in its entirety without realizing it. Maybe it's because the cast is spectacular and its protagonists are of great weight. Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, and Willem Dafoe present three fables that explore human nature's and relationships' limits.
The plot unfolds in three interconnecting stories that invite reflection on themes such as identity and loneliness. The stories present complex, tormented characters struggling to find their place in a world that I found absurd.
Emma Stone presents an enigmatic character, while Jesse Plemons gives a visceral performance. The outstanding and experienced Dafoe, as always, brings his enigmatic presence. Characters that at first glance look strange allowed me to empathize with their internal struggles.
The film is visually stunning and creates a surreal atmosphere. Its cold colors create a sense of unease and strangeness. The music is the icing on the cake, accompanying the narrative very well.
The pace is slow and sure for some, the film may not please them, but in my opinion, that is intentional to contribute to the construction of a disconcerting world.
Kinds of Kindness is a challenging film that I find, not suitable for every audience, but for those who like to venture into a surreal world will find a unique cinematic experience.
I recommend this film to auteur film lovers and those who are looking for a complex narrative.

El pasado fin de semana buscando una película para terminar mi ajetreado día me tropecé con esta película que fue estrenada en agosto de este año 2024. Es un drama psicológico que me atrapó en un mundo surrealista.
No soy amante de este tipo de género, pero debo ser sincero, el director logró atraparme y sin darme cuenta vi la película en su totalidad. Tal vez sea porque el elenco es espectacular y sus protagonistas son de gran peso. Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons y Willem Dafoe, presentan tres fábulas que exploran los límites de la naturaleza humana y sus relaciones.
La trama se desarrolla en tres historias que se interconectan y que invitan a reflexionar sobre temas como la identidad, la soledad. Las historias presentan personajes complejos, atormentados que luchan por encontrar su lugar en un mundo que para mí lo vi totalmente absurdo.
Emma Stone presenta un personaje enigmático, mientras que Jesse Plemons nos regala una actuación visceral. El destacado y experimentado Dafoe, como siempre, aporta su presencia enigmática. Los personajes que a simple vista se ven extraños me permitieron empatizar con sus luchas internas.
La película es visualmente impactante y crea una atmósfera surrealista. Sus colores son fríos que crean la sensación de desasosiego y extrañeza. La música es la guinda del pastel, acompaña muy bien la narrativa.
El ritmo es lento y seguro para algunos, la película puede que no les agrade, pero en mi opinión eso es intencional para contribuir a la construcción de un mundo totalmente desconcertante.
Tipos de Gentileza es una película desafiante que me parece, no es apta para cualquier público, pero para aquellos que les gusta aventurarse en un mundo surrealista encontrarán una experiencia cinematográfica única.
Recomiendo esta película a los amantes del cine de autor y a aquellos que buscan una narrativa compleja.
