¡Buenas mis queridos amantes del cine! ¿Como estan? espero de corazón, que muy bien y con ganas de irse a una trama, cuya profundidad, no parece conocer limite alguno, hoy nos vamos a embarcar (y nunca mejor dicho) a las selvas de Vietnam y Camboya, esta obra de Francis Ford Coppola, el legendario director, productor y guionista, es el responsable de traernos Apocalypse Now, un viaje completo hacia los rostros más deformados de la locura, la perdida del juicio moral y de la decadencia que provoca situaciones tan extremas, como la guerra, todo concentrado en la misión de acabar con un general que supuestamente se ha vuelto loco según los informes de la misión, pero que para nuestro protagonista, interpretado por Martin Sheen, se convertirá el reflejo de un hombre, que ha sido victima, como el, de todas las circunstancias horrendas que se vivieron en el país durante los años del conflicto, antes que nada un aviso, esta por lejos, me parece que es la obra más compleja que me he dado a la tarea de reseñar, por lo que seré tan breve como pueda en resumirla, para así, ser más completo con mi opinion final, dicho esto, comencemos nuestro viaje mis hermanos.

Pero tras todos los eventos que se sufren a lo largo de todo el tramo, el capitán,por fin logra llegar al final de río, no sin sufrir bajas o perdidas en la vía hacia su objetivo, quedando tan solo 3 hombres con el incluido en las cuentas, pese a ello, logra encontrar a los hombres y al parecer, a la tribu a la que actualmente le rinde homenaje al coronel que anda buscando, incluso llega a identificar a aquel soldado que llego a tener la misma misión que el tenia, la tribu esta ubicada en una especie de santuario budista que irónicamente, esta rodeada de cuerpos mutilados y cercenados por doquier, todos ellos presumiblemente, vietnamitas pertenecientes al Vietcong, el breve recorrida de la mano de un fotógrafo americano que también idolatra al coronel, deja a todos los miembros restantes de la tripulación visiblemente consternados y preocupados por la potencial amenaza a la que se están enfrentando, pese a ello, Williard decide seguir con la misión y le ordena a uno de sus tripulantes, que en caso de no volver a una hora estimada, que proceda a pedir el ataque aéreo y abandone la zona, a lo cual este acepta, consciente de toda la locura que emana esta lugar.

El capitán por fin conoce al Coronel, quien se presenta prácticamente como una figura envuelta en sombras, a duras penas dejando ver su rostro, y más importante, dejando ver que pese a su su juicio y razón penden de un hilo, todavía esta consciente de todo lo que hace y de todo lo que lo rodea, intimidando a Williard y al propio espectador con su presencia, conociendo las intenciones del Capitán es brevemente capturado y puesto en una celda improvisada, al pasar las horas y caer la noche, el coronel, lanza una de las cabezas de sus tripulantes Williard a sus pies, y no es otro miembro que el que estaba encargado de pedir el ataque aéreo aunque todo fallara, llenando de angustia al pobre capitán, su único compañero restante, esta en un completo trance ante el abuso de drogas uniéndose a los nativos en sus costumbres y prácticamente, siendo uno más en este circo de lo indecible, por lo que el capitán esta más solo que nunca, pero pese a que esta a merced del coronel, este no muestra un interés en hacerle daño, ni tampoco en dejarlo como su prisionero, más bien, al pasar los días, trata al hombre que venia a matarlo como un invitado más, dejando caer más de un monologo acerca de sus pensamientos más profundos, y de la historia, que termino de quebrar al hombre que Williard tenia en frente, por ultimo, Kurtz, le dice al capitán que en caso de que el muera, desearía que su hijo conociera los verdaderos detalles de su historia y que se le entregara todas sus grabaciones y sus informes a su descendiente, casi vaticinando, lo que ocurría en breves momentos.

Después de todo lo visto en esta cinta, sea cual sea la versión que sea vea, casi todos podemos llegar la conclusión de que hay un aura casi "mística" que rodea a la trama justo cuando nuestro capitán empieza a adentrarse en las profundidades de la selva y el río, la moral del propio capitán va decayendo hasta quedar muy poco del hombre como tal, llegando al final a parecerse más a un animal sin ataduras que a un hombre en si, la película trae temas sumamente complejos, como los crímenes de guerra que cometen la tripulación, el síndrome del estrés post traumatico, la decadencia humana, el poco valor de la vida misma en este contexto, el nulo respeto por los caídos, y muchas caras más profundas que se compactan durante todo el viaje del capitán, por eso creo que es muy difícil hacerse una opinión unánime sobre esta cinta, ya que hay que tomar en cuenta muchos elementos que parecen casi fantásticos en esta obra, pero que no deja de ser un relato que podría ser creíble ante tanta deshumanización.

Investigando sobre la cinta, también es remarcable lo difícil y complejo que fue el rodaje, siendo originalmente que pasarían 6 semanas grabando, cosa que se extendió hasta ni más ni menos que 2 años grabando en condiciones muy jodidas, tampoco ayudo que el polémico actor, Marlon Brando apenas quisiera colaborar en el rodaje, siendo bastante déspota y al parecer, solo interesado en cobrar su dinero, sin embargo, no se pueden negar que su imponente figura le dio el toque especial a esa enigmática figura del coronel Kurtz, en cierta forma, Apocalypse Now, es la historia de un infernal rodaje que casi acaba con la carrera y finanzas del director, pero que curiosamente, se convirtió en un éxito rotundo.

Apolypse Now, es algo muy distinto a lo que uno espera al leer el titulo, no es una historia más sobre héroes y villanos, tampoco se trata vanagloriarse con los logros en el campo de batalla, se trata, de la cruda realidad, dela locura, de las casi demenciales situaciones que se pueden vivir en un entorno así, y como incluso al hombre más preparado, incluso al hombre más entrenado para escenarios como este, es capaz de quebrarse de todas las maneras posibles, sobretodo, mentales, dejando un hilo muy fino entre una realidad complejamente horrenda, y un viaje onírico que va desgastando la mente de un traumado capitán, La recomiendo muchísimo para analizarla y no perderse una magistral obra que toca temas que muy pocas películas se atreven a explorar, es difícil y hasta repulsa de mirar en ocasiones, como la guerra misma, pero considero que vale la pena por lo menos tener conocimiento de ella, por otro lado, no pasa nada si no les gusta o no les parece la gran cosa, pues en cuanto a espectacularidad la pelicula se queda más bien corta y no se enfoca en estos aspectos primordialmente, dicho esto, espero con ansias sus opiniones si que ya la han visto mis hermanos.
