In my last post, I wrote an article about what I consider when choosing a movie-series. For those who haven't read it, I will put the link here again. link
In that post, I talked about how my selection process was shaped. I even mentioned that there was a series I liked recently and that I would write a review of it.
I can say that this series is perhaps the first on the list of the most popular of the last period. I can say that both the iconic dance of the lead role and the manipulative effect of social media on people are the reasons for such an interest.
Of course, I am sure there are those who have done it before, especially Movies & TV Shows is a great community for this, but the Turks have a saying: ''Every person has a different way of eating yogurt'', that is, yes, everyone does the same job, but the results are all different from each other. Because not everyone looks at the world from the same window. Isn't that why life is more colorful?
Let's move on to the criticism of the series.
WEDNESDAY
The series begins with Wednesday, the daughter of the "Addams" family, a previously known family, feeding a boy who bullied her sister in high school to piranhas in the pool.
The director already shows us how absurd the character is from the first scene of the series, and Tim Barton could not be expected otherwise.
Of course, this incident leads to Wednesday's expulsion from school, so the mother of our main girl enrolls her daughter in Nevermore, the boarding school she secretly wants to send her daughter to.
This is the school where Wednesday's mother and father once went to school, where they met and fell in love.
Since the series is also a horror-comedy, the atmosphere of the school is also prepared accordingly, its always dark and gloomy structure seems to be inspired by the castles mentioned in the books of Edgar Allen Poe.
I think it is very appropriate because not only Wednesday but also the other students are different in the school. Werewolves, sirens, medusa-type children etc.
The only criticism I would make on this subject is maybe the Medusa-type child because Medusa is a snake-headed woman in Greek mythology, so she cannot be born with dozens of snakes on her head when she is bored. This part made me a little sad because I don't like things that are not in the original.
Wednesday goes to school under the force of her mother even though she doesn't want to go. She is not the only one on this path :)
At first, her father secretly sends her a friend who I think most people would say ew what is this.

Even though this is a bit absurd, I don't want to make it too strange because it's a fantasy series.
Anyway, Wednesday of course notices the hand, they built a really clever character from the beginning. In this respect, I liked it even more because it is far from the stupid blonde girl in pink type in most TV series-movies made today.
Just when I was happy that I didn't see one of these girls, I would be lying if I said I was surprised to see that her roommate Enid fit this description. Because from the very beginning they made me feel that they would do the opposite poles attract each other thing.
At first, of course, as I predicted, characters as opposite as black and pink did not get along, but as time passed, the troubles that happened to them brought them closer together and they became "best" friends.
Although I say it was obvious that this would happen, I can say that it added beauty to the series. Because even though the character of Wednesday seems like a bad, pushing people away, unlikeable type, she is also a girl with an innocent side. They showed us this through 'The Thing' at times and Enid at other times. We also saw it in the compassion she showed to the "bee boy" she befriended at school. (I made up the nickname "bee boy" just now, I didn't remember the boy otherwise.
Of course, things couldn't go on like this since he started school, and what started it all was the discovery of people being killed by the monster in the forest.
They did this part so well that I never guessed the right person until they showed us who the monster was in the last episode.
The monster appearing out of nowhere and Wednesday having visions of the past happened almost at the same time. I thought that maybe it could be related to this because I even had guesses that maybe when she lost herself and fainted when she went to the past, maybe she turned into a monster.
Anyway, Wednesday, who somehow finds herself involved in the events because of a friend at school, throws herself into investigating the incident. Meanwhile, she meets Tyler, the sheriff's son who works as a waiter in the cafe.
At first, I thought Tyler was a character added to the series by saying that there should be a character that most girls who watch it fall to their knees. Because his innocent pure smile makes people want to protect him. I think Wednesday was also affected by this, and the boy stole her heart with a few romantic moves.
Honestly, I can say that Tyler was the character that surprised me the most.

Because I thought the monster could be anyone but never Tyler. Because he was doing justice to the leading male character. I was relieved that at least now we knew who the monster was when the boy Xavier was blamed as a monster. But I can say that Tyler's innocent smile was suddenly replaced by an evil smile, which broke Wednesday's and my hearts.
I thought about everyone from the principal to the red-haired human teacher. It didn't surprise me that the red-haired teacher was the one who started the real events, but it was still a move I didn't expect. Especially the fact that the psychologist woman and the principal turned out to be innocent.

In general, the series exceeded my expectations, the chain of events, the characters doing justice to the characters and unexpected events were the things that pleased me.
As a bad criticism, I think maybe better effects could have been used, especially the monster and the way Enid turned into a wolf seemed not very professional.
But I can say that it is a series I can recommend to you. I think you will enjoy watching it because the episodes are not too long and the events are remarkable.

Umarım hafta sonunuz güzel geçiyordur.
Geçen postumda film-dizi seçerken nelere dikkat ettiğim hakkında bir yazı yazmıştım. Okumayanlar için buraya linkini koyacağım tekrar. link
O postumda seçim sürecimin nasıl şekillendiğiyle alakalı maddelere değinmiştim. Hatta son zamanlarda beğendiğim bir dizi olduğunu ve onun eleştirisini yazacağımda söz etmiştim sizlere.
Bu dizi de son dönemin belki de en popülerler listesinde ilk sırada diyebilirim. Gerek başrolün ikonikleşmiş dansı gerekse sosyal medyanın insanlar üzerindeki manipülatif etkisi olduğunu söyleyebilirim bu denli ilginin sebebini.
Ben de diziyi bir de kendi gözümden değerlendirmek istedim. Tabi ki daha önce yapanlar eminim vardır özellikle Movies & TV Shows bunun için harika bir topluluk ama Türklerin bir sözü vardır : ''Her yiğidin ayrı bir yoğurt yiyişi vardır.'' , yani evet herkes aynı işi yapar ama ortaya çıkan sonuçların hepsi birbirinden farklıdır. Çünkü herkes dünyaya aynı pencereden bakmaz. Bu yüzden zaten hayat da daha renkli değil midir?
Yavaştan dizi eleştirisine geçelim isterseniz..

Dizi daha öncede bilinen bir aile olan ''Addams'' ailesinin kızları Wednesday'ın okuduğu lisede kardeşine zorbalık yapan bir çocuğu havuzda piranalara yedirmesiyle başlıyor.
Zaten dizinin ilk sahnesinden karakterin ne kadar absürt olduğunu bizlere gösteriyor yönetmen, zaten Tim Barton'dan da başkası beklenemezdi.
Bu olay tabi ki Wednesday'ın okuldan atılmasına sebep oluyor, bu sayede asıl kızımızın annesi zaten içten içe kızını göndermek istediği yatılı okul Nevermore'a kaydediyor.
Bu okul zamanında da Wednesday'ın annesi ve babasının okuduğu , orada tanışıp aşık oldukları yer.
Dizi aynı zamanda korku-komedi tadında bir dizi olduğu için okulun atmosferi de ona göre hazırlanmış, her daim karanlık kasfetli yapısı Edgar Allen Poe kitaplarında bahsi geçen şatolardan esinlenilmiş gibi .
Okulda sadece Wednesday değil diğer öğrenciler de farklı olduğu için bence çok yerinde olmuş. Kurt adamlar, sirenler, Medusa tipli çocuklar vs..
Bu konuda yapacağım tek eleştiri belki Medusa tipli çocuğa olur çünkü Medusa Yunan mitolojisinde yılan başlı kadın olarak geçer öyle canı sıkılan başında onlarca yılanla doğamaz. Bu kısım beni biraz üzdü çünkü orjinalinde kalmayan şeyleri sevmiyorum.
Wednesday okula her ne kadar gitmek istemese de annesinin zoruyla gider. Bu yolda tek değildir :)
İlk başta bence çoğu kişinin ıyy bu ne diyeceği türden bir arkadaşını babası gizlice ona gönderir.

Bu biraz absürt olsa da fantastiğe kaçan bir dizi olduğu için çok da yadırgamak istemiyorum.
Her neyse Wednesday tabi ki eli fark eder en baştan, gerçekten çok zeki bir karakter kurgulamışlar. Bu yönden günümüzde yapılan çoğu dizi-filmlerdeki pembe giyen aptal sarışın kız tiplemesinden uzak olduğu için daha da bir sevdim.
Tam bu kızlardan görmediğim için mutlu olurken, oda arkadaşı Enid'in aynı bu tabire uyduğunu görünce şaşırdım desem yalan olur. Çünkü en baştan zıt kutuplar birbirini çeker olayını yapacaklarını hissettirdiler.
Başta tabi ki tahmin ettiğim gibi siyah ve pembe kadar zıt olan karakterler anlaşamadı ama zaman geçtikçe başlarına gelen belalar onları birbirine yaklaştırdı ve ''en iyi'' arkadaş moduna geçtiler.
Her ne kadar belliydi bu olacağı desem de bence diziye güzellik katmış diyebilirim. Çünkü Wednesday karakteri her ne kadar kötü, insanları kendinden iten, sevimsiz bir tip gibi dursa da içinde masum bir yanı olan da bir kız. Bunu da bizlere yeri geldi 'Şey'' sayesinde yeri geldi Enid sayesinde gösterdiler. Aynı zamanda okulda arkadaş olduğu ''arı çocuk'' 'a gösterdiği şefkatte de gördük. (Arı çocuk lakabını şuan uydurdum çocuğu diğer türlü hatırlayamadım.

Canavarın bir anda ortaya çıkması, Wednesday'ın geçmişe dair görüler görmeye başlaması hemen hemen aynı anda olan şeylerdi. Belki bununla bağlantılı olabilir diye düşünmüştüm çünkü geçmişe gittiği anda kendini kaybedip bayıldığında belki canavara dönüşüyordur gibi tahminlerim bile vardı.
Her neyse bir şekilde okuldaki bir arkadaşı yüzünden kendini de olayların içinde bulan Wednesday kendini olayı araştırmaya verir.
Bu sırada kafede garsonluk yapan şerifin oğlu Tyler ile tanışır.
Tyler bence izleyen çoğu kızın dibinin düştüğü bir karakter de olsun diyerek diziye eklenen bir karakter diye düşünmüştüm en başta. Çünkü masum saf gülümsemesi insanda onu koruma güdüsü uyandırıyor. Bence Wednesday'de bundan etkilendi , bir de çocuk da romantik birkaç hareketle kızın kalbini çaldı.
Açıkçası beni en çok şaşırtan karakter Tyler oldu diyebilirim..

Çünkü canavarı herkes olabilir ama asla Tyler olmaz diye düşünmüştüm. Çünkü başrol erkek tiplemesinin hakkını veriyordu gayet. Xavier denen çocuğun canavar olarak üstüne suç kaldığında en azından artık canavar kim biliyoruz diye rahatlamıştım. Ama Tyler’ın o masum gülümsemesinin bir anda yerini şeytani bir gülücüğe yer bırakması Wednesday’in ve benim kalbimizi kırdı diyebilirim..
Okuldaki müdüreden, kırmızı saçlı insan öğretmene kadar herkesi düşünmüştüm. Zaten kızıl saçlı öğretmenin de asıl olayları başlatan kişi olması beni çok şaşırtmadı ama yine de beklemediğim bir hamleydi. Özellikle psikolog kadın ve müdürenin masum çıkması da aynı şekilde..
Dizinin genel olarak beklentilerimin üstünde olduğunu, olayların birbiriyle zincirleme gitmesi, karakterlerin hakkını vermesi ve umulmadık olaylar olması beni memnun eden şeylerdi.
Kötü eleştiri olarak belki daha iyi efekt kullanılabilirdi diye düşünüyorum. Özellikle canavar ve Enid’in kurda dönüştüğü şekiller çok da profesyonel değil gibiydi.
Ama sizlere tavsiye edebileceğim bir dizi diyebilirim. Hem bölümlerin çok uzun olmaması hem de olayların dikkat çekici türden olması sebebinden izlemekten zevk alacağınızı düşünüyorum.
