Free Guy is a madcap, action-packed adventure that will have audiences cheering for its sympathetic everyman protagonist. Guy (played by Ryan Reynolds) is a bank teller who discovers that he is a non-player character (NPC) in a massively multiplayer online game called Free City. As he comes to terms with this revelation, Guy realizes that he has the power to change the game world around him – and sets out to become the hero of his own story.
The film is a love letter to video games, and its high-octane action set-pieces are a joy to watch. Reynolds is in top form as Guy, and the supporting cast – including Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, and Lil Rel Howery – are all excellent. Free Guy is a must-see for video game fans and action movie lovers alike.
