Cinema Experience All to Myself šŸŽ¦

Hello amazing people :)!

*This is my first post in this community :)!

Today I went to the cinema to watch the new ā€œDeadpool & Wolverineā€ movie ( spoiler alert it completely lived up to my expectations). Thereā€™s something about sitting in a cinema that always excites meā€”the anticipation of watching a film unfold on the big screen, itā€™s art really.

However, this time, it felt strangely different? I was the only person in the theater, just me the massive screen and pitch black..

Letā€™s talk about the movie for a bit :). The film itself was brilliant! The crossover between those two characters who mind you have completely different personalities, was hilarious & their dynamic was very interesting.

Deadpoolā€™s witty, fourth-wall-breaking humor (I love when they interact with the viewer and acknowledge usšŸ˜†) was sharper than ever (IP infringement, Disney - Fox buyout etc), and Wolverine brought that gritty, no-nonsense attitude that balanced out the chaos. The plot kept moving without feeling rushed and the storyline was just perfect. The movie did a fantastic job of bringing together two iconic characters, and for anyone who loves either, it was a movie worth watching.

Despite how much I enjoyed the film, sitting alone in that empty cinema got me thinkingā€¦ Since COVID-19, it feels like people have stopped going to theaters. With the rise of streaming services, why leave the comfort of home, right? And yet, thereā€™s something about that shared experience, sitting in a full theater, that streaming at home just canā€™t replicate. The laughter, the gasps, the collective excitement when a major plot twist hitsā€”those moments feel lost now.

The only time I can remember seeing a theater packed recently was during the Barbenheimer craze. People were excited, almost as if going to the movies was a new it thing. That buzz, that excitement people hadā€”itā€™s something I truly miss.

Hereā€™s to hoping the magic of cinema makes a full comeback soon :).
