¡Hola gente bonita! espero estén muy bien hoy quiero hablarles de algo que pasa mucho a la hora de estrenos de películas las EXPECTATIVAS, como afecta esto a uno y como puede ponerle una clase de “presión” a la película ¡Acompáñenme!
Hello beautiful people! I hope you are doing well today I want to talk to you about something that happens a lot when it comes to movie premieres the EXPECTATIONS, how it affects you and how it can put a kind of "pressure" on the movie.
Me inspire a hacer este post porque hace poco fui al estreno de la nueva película de Spiderman: No Way Home, una película que muchos nos emocionamos por su estreno y llenamos de teorías en nuestra mente de cosas que podían pasar, es decir, creamos muchos expectativas antes de que la propia película llegara al cine de cualquier país. Entonces quería hablarles de como el nosotros crear y alimentarnos de otras expectativas crean lo que yo llamo el “hater por ocio”, una persona que suelta “hate” por, en este caso, una película solo porque quiere, sin base y sin tener de verdad una opinión real, solo para llamar la atención.
I was inspired to do this post because I recently went to the premiere of the new Spiderman movie: No Way Home, a movie that many of us got excited for its release and filled our minds with theories of things that could happen, that is, we created many expectations before the movie itself arrived to the cinema of any country. So I wanted to talk to you about how we create and feed ourselves with other expectations creating what I call the "hater for leisure", a person who releases "hate" for, in this case, a movie just because he wants to, without any basis and without having a real opinion, just to get attention.
Tranquilos, no tomare como ejemplo a esta película de Spiderman porque es muy recién y aún existen personas que la quieren ver y no han podido jajaja entonces hablemos de películas que ya salieron hace años para dar el ejemplo que pasó conmigo y con gente que conozco. Dividiré esta explicación en expectativas que terminan bien y las que terminan mal, recordando que las expectativas que pueden ser buenas o malas pero nos enfocamos en ambas y el resultado a la película ¿entendido? ¡VAMOS!
Calm down, I will not take as an example this Spiderman movie because it is very recent and there are still people who want to see it and have not been able to hahaha so let's talk about movies that already came out years ago to give the example that happened with me and people I know. I will divide this explanation in expectations that end up good and those that end up bad, remembering that the expectations can be good or bad but we focus on both and the result to the movie, got it? GO!
Todo termina bien | All ends well
Un excelente ejemplo que elegí y a todos los que le pregunté están de acuerdo fue una bella película de Marvel llamada “End Game”. Antes de salir esta película las expectativas estaban muy divididas, pues obviamente sentíamos que todo iba a salir muy mal o todo iba a salir muy bien, y como estamos hablando de una película que iba a salir en un año donde las redes sociales tienen mucho más impacto que años anteriores, entonces salían teorías, opiniones y demás cosas que nos podían crear expectativas de ambos lados, todo era relativo hasta que llegó la película.
An excellent example I chose and everyone I asked agreed was a beautiful Marvel movie called "End Game". Before this movie came out expectations were very divided, because obviously we felt that everything was going to be very bad or everything was going to be very good, and as we are talking about a movie that was going to come out in a year where social networks have much more impact than previous years, then theories, opinions and other things that could create expectations on both sides came out, everything was relative until the movie came out.
Cuando se estrenó la película y la vimos, de verdad TODO TERMINÓ MUY BIEN, no solo porque el final de la película fue como una solución a todo el llanto y tristeza que nos dejaron antes, sino que también nos dejaron ganas de “Por favor queremos más cosas así”. Así como en Spiderman, en End Game sabíamos que iban a pasar cosas que no esperábamos con ganas, decíamos que iban a dar igual y nos voltearon todo el pensamiento, nos sorprendieron y de verdad quedamos muy felices. Entonces en este caso, la expectativa negativa que tuvimos nos las taparon y voltearon.
When the movie was released and we saw it, it really ALL ENDED VERY WELL, not only because the end of the movie was like a solution to all the crying and sadness that we were left with before, but also because it left us wanting to "Please we want more things like this". Just like in Spiderman, in End Game we knew things were going to happen that we were not looking forward to, we said they were going to happen anyway and they turned our thoughts upside down, they surprised us and we were really happy. So in this case, the negative expectations we had were covered up and turned around.
Todo termina mal | All ends badly
Todos conocemos la saga de Star Wars, y cuando luego de muchos años informaron que iban a continuar esa saga con una 7ma película la emoción fue GIGANTE. Yo soy muy fan y aproveche que tengo amigos igual para ayudarme con esta parte del post, pues en este caso nos emocionamos mucho, cuando llegó la 7ma película hubieron opiniones distintas pero de verdad para mi fue un buen abre boca para volver a recordar como nos sentíamos con esta saga película, llorando porque vemos los actores de las películas antiguas y ver que paso años luego de todo lo que ya habíamos visto.
We all know the Star Wars saga, and when after many years they informed that they were going to continue this saga with a 7th movie the emotion was GIANT. I am a big fan and I took advantage of the fact that I have friends to help me with this part of the post, because in this case we were very excited, when the 7th movie arrived there were different opinions but really for me it was a good opening to remember how we felt with this movie saga, crying because we see the actors of the old movies and see what happened years after everything we had already seen.
En este caso quiero mencionar la 9na película de esta saga “El ascenso de Skywalker”, donde como veníamos con otras 2 películas que nos emocionaron, esta era el final de esa historia, de dos protagonistas que nos hicieron preguntar de verdad que es lo que piensan desarrollar. En estas películas, para mi, las redes sociales casi no estaban encendidas para dar expectativas de esta última película entonces todo era únicamente de conversaciones, y siempre nos quedábamos que TODO IBA A SER INCREÍBLE, esperábamos que aplaudiéramos de emoción pues los caminos serian diferentes o los desarrollos de los personajes nos harían llorar.
In this case I want to mention the 9th movie of this saga "Rise of Skywalker", where as we came with 2 other movies that excited us, this was the end of that story, of two protagonists that made us really ask what they plan to develop. In these movies, for me, the social networks were almost not turned on to give expectations of this last movie so everything was only about conversations, and we always stayed that EVERYTHING WAS GOING TO BE AMAZING, we expected to clap our hands of excitement because the paths would be different or the developments of the characters would make us cry.
En este caso, para mi y las personas que les pregunté, no fue así, de verdad hubo momentos en la película que nos disfrutamos bastante y nos emocionaron, porque si lograron seguir emocionándonos con lo que Star Wars siempre nos da, pero hablando específicamente del desarrollo de Rei y Kylo Ren de verdad no me gustaron nada, siento que pudieron desarrollarlos muchísimo mejor, pero se forzó el cambio de mentalidad y de APELLIDOS jajaja, de verdad este para mi fue el buen ejemplo para decir “esperé más”.
In this case, for me and the people I asked, it was not like that, there were moments in the movie that we really enjoyed and we were excited, because if they managed to keep us excited with what Star Wars always gives us, but speaking specifically of the development of Rei and Kylo Ren I really did not like anything, I feel they could develop them much better, but the change of mentality and Surnames was forced hahaha, really this for me was the good example to say "I expected more".
Las redes sociales | Social networks
Quiero enfrascarme un poco más en este tema, pues algo que es verdad es la diferencia de nuestras propias expectativas hacia una película gracias a la evolución de las redes sociales. Perfectos ejemplos son los que di antes pues, cuando estaba saliendo Star Wars I, II y III algunas redes estaban siendo muy usadas pero no se hablaba o salían imágenes de esas películas que, eran muy esperadas, pero se decía nada de ellas al menos que saliera en una conversación con alguien.
I want to dwell a little more on this topic, because something that is true is the difference in our own expectations towards a movie thanks to the evolution of social networks. Perfect examples are the ones I gave before because, when Star Wars I, II and III were coming out, some networks were being used a lot but there was no talk or images of those movies, which were highly anticipated, but nothing was said about them unless it came up in a conversation with someone.
Hoy en día no es así, se habla, se lee, se crea imágenes sobre cualquier película que está apunto de salir o salió y no hemos visto y todos tenemos que admitir que gracias a todo eso siempre tenemos una expectativa diferente a la que hubiéramos tenido si no leyéramos nada y solo esperamos a que llegue la película. Esto siempre será bueno y malo, pero al final no hay que enfrascarse tanto en ello, es un excelente debate de que si hace daño o no, pero igual uno no puede dejar de ver películas para disfrutar de la magia del cine.
Nowadays it is not like that, people talk, read, create images about any movie that is about to come out or came out and we have not seen it and we all have to admit that thanks to all that we always have a different expectation than we would have had if we did not read anything and just wait for the movie to arrive. This will always be good and bad, but in the end we should not get so caught up in it, it is an excellent debate whether it hurts or not, but still one can not stop watching movies to enjoy the magic of cinema.
