Time to watch one of the other Cloverfield movies, I've only seen the one from 2016. There's another one from 2018 but I thought I'd watch this one first, this one is directed by Matt Reeves, a horror action thriller with sci fi elements and is from 2008.😃
This film tells the story through the lens of a hand-held camera and here we follow a group of friends in New York who experience an attack, a gigantic monster attack. With the unique film style, this provides an intense and nerve-wracking experience for the viewers, it gives a feeling of being present and here the tension builds nicely throughout the film with special effects that are good for the time. The acting performances are solid, especially from Lizzy Caplan and Michael Stahl-David, as ordinary people in terrifying situations. I thought the film was good, not a big fan of the footage style and can be a bit confusing, but all in all a good film experience for the genre. I'll see the last one in the series soon I think. This was a 7 for me.
