Este film, es un remake de la película del mismo nombre del año 1981, dirigida por el director Uruguayo Fede Álvarez que, con el al timón de este proyecto, sabia no iba a salir decepcionada ya que en su historial, están adjuntos joyas del horror como: "No respires" , "La matanza de Texas (Remake)" , entre otros.
Debo decir que, hoy en día, es muy dificil hacer terror original por lo que hacer remakes, me parece buena opción pero arriesgada ya que estas, no suelen superar al producto original y, en este caso, Álvarez hizo un trabajo espectacular con esta joyita del género de posesiones demoniacas.

I must say that, nowadays, it is very difficult to create original horror so making remakes seems like a good but risky option because they usually do not surpass the original product and, in this case, Álvarez did a spectacular job with this little gem of the demonic possession genre.

Debo admitir que ni yo pude evitar caer en comparaciones pero, como dije, esta remake para mí, supera a la original (Esta es solo mi opinión).
La original tiene toques de comedia (Lo cual, no esta mal pero , en mi caso particular, la comedia en este tipo de películas es dificil de manejar ya que puede convertirse mas en una parodia que en una producción de horror) en cambio, la versión de 2013, es puro horror y no te da un respiro (Sin mencionar las escenas gore que se exhiben muy bien logradas y realistas).
A pesar de que este género de películas no es mi rama favorita del terror, debo admitir que la amé. Tiene un ritmo muy bueno lo cual, hace que no te aburras y cada escena es aún mas grotesca que la otra.
La estética del maquillaje me recordó mucho a la del exorcista. Me sentía incomoda editando la portada de esta reseña ja,ja,ja. Solo observen esa sonrisa combinando macabramente con esos ojos que no son mas que una puerta al mismísimo infierno.
I must admit that I couldn't help but fall into comparisons but, as I said, this remake, for me, surpasses the original (This is just my opinion).
The original has comedic elements (which is not bad but, in my particular case, comedy in this type of movies is difficult to handle as it can become more of a parody than a horror production) whereas the 2013 version is pure horror and doesn't give you a break (not to mention the gore scenes that are very well crafted and realistic).
Even though this genre of movies is not my favorite in horror, I must admit that I loved it. It has a very good pace which makes you not get bored and each scene is even more grotesque than the other.
The makeup aesthetic reminded me a lot of The Exorcist. I felt uncomfortable editing the cover of this review haha. Just look at that smile macabrely pairing with those eyes that are nothing more than a door to hell itself.
Un clásico del horror, mejorado a otro nivel que no puedes dejar de ver si la temática de posesiones es tu favorita.
Es fuerte, asquerosa, aterradora y , a medida que avance todo, tu desesperación y pánico aumentaran si te pones en la piel de los personajes. Eso si, si tienes el estomago débil, no la veas ya que es bastante explícita.
Con esta película , aprenderás el verdadero significado de la frase : "La curiosidad mató al gato" así que si te encuentras cosas extrañas por allí, déjalas donde estaban si no quieres que se te meta el que no se puede nombrar. Le doy un 15 de 10 ¡Saludos! ¡Hasta la próxima reseñe de horror!
A classic horror film, elevated to another level that you can't miss if possession themes are your favorite.
It's strong, disgusting, terrifying, and as everything unfolds, your desperation and panic will increase if you put yourself in the characters' shoes. However, if you have a weak stomach, don't watch it as it is quite explicit.
With this movie, you will learn the true meaning of the phrase: "Curiosity killed the cat" so if you encounter strange things around, leave them where they were if you don’t want the one that cannot be named to enter your life. I give it a 15 out of 10. Greetings! Until the next horror review!
