Biohacking and Nootropics

I take a look at Hive and I didn't find much material specialized in the theme and even no tribe focused on these concepts, which, I confess, surprised me. I imagined that it would be a topic already intensely discussed here in this ecosystem. But ok, everything has its moment to start and I believe that I will be the proponent of the idea, of turning this concept into a tag, who knows. A tribe is still early, and I have no idea how it would work, I was unable to delve into this study.

But what is Biohacking anyway? Honestly, it is still a somewhat confusing word, and it comes up against some variants of its concepts. Although the term seems almost pedantic, we are talking about the "act of hacking" yourself, escaping the predetermined and rigid protocols that govern our instinctual health and also the social relationship we have in terms of human health, such as eating patterns, patterns vitamin supplements, hydration, unusual, legal and illegal, harmful and beneficial substances, and so on. However, the term "biohack" has also been widely used by a group of independent scientists who have studied their genomes and the possibilities of editing our DNA on their own, thus seeking to change it in a positive and advanced way. The concept of independent genetic alteration is an extremely rich and intense topic that deserves several articles to be explored in depth, and for now we will leave it in "stand-by". The most popular concept in Biohack is exactly the first one I mentioned: The idea of changing and improving yourself with some "life-hacks" (another term that has become pop in this tik tok fever and the like).

This text is just an introduction, a proposal of the theme, to be able to talk more about it throughout other posts, including why I preferred to post here on Hive even instead of in other tribes, to leave open the possibility of making this a tag. I do not believe that the theme fits perfectly in the tribe natural medicine because after all, not every nootropic supplement is natural, although most of these hacks are based on use of herbal medicines and practices directly linked to the concept of the connection of man with his true roots (such as, for example, the Wim Hoff method). And as far as I know, there is no other tribe focused on "Health" more generally.

And what are these "nootropics" after all? In a nutshell: Substances that increase the power of our brain, be it cognitive, be it in memory, be it in focus, and so on. The term also ended up becoming vast in adjectives, and sometimes it is normal to generalize to the point of saying that taking a basic and fundamental mineral like Magnesium is a nootropic, even though it is not, because, sometimes a simple act like this can make intense difference to that person's health to the point of dramatically improving their cognition, memory, sleep, etc. The same applies to Omega3, Zinc. But there are the class of synthetic drugs that are in fact the nootropics themselves, such as Racetams (Piracetam, Aniracetam, Oxiracetam, and so on), there are others that are quite popular and controversial, such as Ritalin and Aderall, and so we continue . The "market" for nootropics is on the rise, and research on this topic continues to advance. In spite of everything, there is a lot of misinformation about it, and I believe that a space to detail the theme would be at least very positive. I personally, I have material for at least about 30 author posts about it, okay.

Well, that was a brief introduction to the idea, I hope you had a good read, and your votes will be for me a confirmation of interest in the topic. I will be open to suggestions and even those interested in participating in the topic, writing their personal experiences. Thank you!
