Cuando hablo de comunicación entre padres e hijos, pienso que esta es el pilar para establecer en nuestros hijos el desarrollo emocional, personal y social, la manera en que nos comunicamos con ellos es sumamente importante e aquí la clave para tener éxitos. En esta oportunidad les hablaré de la comunicación efectiva que tengo con mi hija mayor y los lazos de unión que he creado con ella desde que era una bebé hasta ahora que ya tiene 22 años, siendo ya toda una mujer profesional.

Como les decía; la forma en que nos comunicamos con ellos es importante, ya que de esto depende su autoestima y confianza; además los vínculos que ella ha creado con toda la familia. Escuchar frecuentemente a mi hija me ha creado una habilidad increíble y me emociona, porque esto va más allá de oir simplemente lo que dicen. Desde que ella inició sus pasos en el habla, siempre estuve pendiente de cada detalle, pregunta que me realizaba, puesto que siempre ha sido desde bebé muy alegre, extrovertida y muy inteligente; así que debía saber como manejarme siempre con ella de una forma astuta, inteligente y sobre todo muy sutil.

When I talk about communication between parents and children, I think this is the pillar to establish in our children the emotional, personal and social development, the way we communicate with them is extremely important and here the key to success. In this opportunity I will talk about the effective communication I have with my oldest daughter and the bonds I have created with her since she was a baby until now that she is 22 years old, being already a professional woman.

As I was saying; the way we communicate with them is important, since their self-esteem and confidence depend on it, as well as the bonds she has created with the whole family. Listening frequently to my daughter has created an incredible ability and it excites me, because it goes beyond simply hearing what they say. Since she began her first steps in speech, I was always aware of every detail, every question she asked me, since she has always been very cheerful, extroverted and very intelligent since she was a baby; so I had to know how to always handle myself with her in an astute, intelligent and above all very subtle way.

Aquí no es simplemente escuchar lo que ellos dicen. No, es prestar atención a cada palabra que nos emiten, cada emoción que sienten, visualizar los gestos cuando nos están diciendo algo, esta parte es importante, porque cuando conocemos a nuestros hijos, sabemos por medio de sus gestos cuando algo está mal en ellos y que le puede estar pasando, siempre procuré estar pendiente de este detalle en ella. Es fundamental mostrar interés cuando ellos nos están comunicando cualquier problema o simplemente algún tema en específico. La importancia de dedicarles tiempo y espacio para escucharlos allí estamos transmitiendo de que son importantes para nosotros y que cada problema o sentimiento son tan válidos como los nuestros.

Here it is not simply listening to what they say. No, it is to pay attention to every word they say, every emotion they feel, visualize the gestures when they are telling us something, this part is important, because when we know our children, we know through their gestures when something is wrong with them and what may be happening to them, I always try to be aware of this detail in it. It is essential to show interest when they are communicating any problem or simply a specific topic. The importance of dedicating time and space to listen to them there we are transmitting that they are important to us and that every problem or feeling is as valid as ours.

Además de lo antes expuesto es de mucha importancia y creo que es la primera regla que debemos tener, es la de mantener un ambiente de armonía, de paz, de amor, para que ellos se puedan sentir seguros y puedan tener la confianza de expresar sus emociones y pensamientos con total libertad, sin miedos a ser juzgados. Siempre me he catalogado por ser una madre abierta y honesta con ellos, sobre todo con Nancy que es la primera y es la hembra, puesto que esto hizo que creara con ella una base tan sólida e imposible de destruir y me siento feliz de este trabajo realizado desde hace muchos años. Es bonito cuando tu hija te dice mami mi amiga Bárbara me dijo Nancy ¡ojalá mi mamá fuese como la tuya!, eso me hace sentir que estoy haciendo un buen trabajo y más aún cuando sus amigos me lo dicen directamente.

In addition to the above, it is very important and I think it is the first rule that we must have, is to maintain an atmosphere of harmony, peace, love, so that they can feel safe and can have the confidence to express their emotions and thoughts with total freedom, without fear of being judged. I have always catalogued myself for being an open and honest mother with them, especially with Nancy who is the first and is the female, since this made me create with her such a solid and impossible to destroy base and I feel happy with this work done for many years. It is nice when your daughter tells you mommy, my friend Barbara told me Nancy, I wish my mom was like yours, that makes me feel that I am doing a good job and even more when her friends tell me directly.

Cuando expresamos nuestras emociones esta es una clave para una buena comunicación familiar. Siempre he sido muy expresiva, comunicativa y comprensiva, los motivo a seguir adelante y si se caen que aprendan a levantarse. Gracias a la comunicación que he creado entre ambas partes, he tenido la oportunidad de llevarla por el buen camino, creando en ella valores de honestidad, lealtad, generosidad, empatía por los demás, amor, respeto y mucha comunicación. ¡Ah! Pero esto no viene solo, porque si como padres no somos lo que estamos enseñando, déjenme decirles que estamos mal; porque, como enseñas algo que no aplicas en tu día a día, por eso le he inculcado los valores que traigo de mi hogar y los he mejorado y hoy puedo decir con orgullo que, mi pequeña es una mujer que desde niña ha sido valiente y guerrera y ha sabido manejar con sabiduría cada reto que le presenta la vida, siempre apoyada de los consejos de mamá y papá y de la familia que la ama.

When we express our emotions this is a key to good family communication. I have always been very expressive, communicative and understanding, I motivate them to move forward and if they fall down to learn to get up. Thanks to the communication that I have created between both parties, I have had the opportunity to take them on the right path, creating in them values of honesty, loyalty, generosity, empathy for others, love, respect and a lot of communication. Ah! But this does not come alone, because if as parents we are not what we are teaching, let me tell you that we are wrong; because, how do you teach something that you do not apply in your day to day, that is why I have instilled in her the values that I bring from my home and I have improved them and today I can proudly say that, my little girl is a woman who since childhood has been brave and warrior and has been able to handle with wisdom every challenge that life presents her, always supported by the advice of mom and dad and the family that loves her.

Otra cosa muy importante, es que no solo es hablar, también como padres debemos saber cuándo callar y solo estar presentes, que ellos sientan que estamos allí aunque no digamos nada, esto es valioso, recuerden que hay oportunidades donde las palabras sencillamente sobran y solo basta con nuestros gestos y afectos de amor, donde le transmitamos seguridad y confianza. Para concluir, la comunicación en la relación de padres e hijos no se estudia, se aprende, es una habilidad, una herramienta que usamos como padres, esto requiere de mucho tiempo y paciencia, no es fácil, pero no imposible.

Escuchen permanentemente a sus hijos, sus inquietudes, sus tristezas, sus logros y estén siempre allí para ellos llenos de amor y verán como se van ganando su confianza en todo momento.
