Hola mi apreciada comunidad de Motherhood, un alegria el estar una vez mas por aca para compartir junto a ustedes. Un saludo de antemano a todas la madres, padres e hijos que comparten sus vivencias en cada uno de los diferentes roles que nos toca vivir. Hoy deseo compartirles lo que viví hace mas unas semanas, el pasar por momentos que desestabilizan a la familia, y hablo cuando un miembro de ellos se enferma, y esto fue lo que le pasó a mi querida esposita.

Hello my dear Motherhood community, I am happy to be here once again to share with you. A greeting in advance to all the mothers, fathers and children who share their experiences in each of the different roles that we live. Today I want to share with you what I experienced a few weeks ago, going through moments that destabilize the family, and I am talking about when a member of them gets sick, and this is what happened to my dear wife.

Hace unas semanas, un episodio que desestabilizó a mi familia y que me hizo reflexionar sobre la fragilidad de la salud y la importancia del apoyo mutuo. Todo comenzó cuando mi querida esposita empezó a tener una tos leve. Al principio, no le dimos mucha importancia, pensando que era solo un resfriado pasajero, de hecho a ella poco le gusta visitar un hospital. Sin embargo, con el pasar de los días, la tos se intensificó, y su malestar se hizo mas fuerte.

A few weeks ago, an episode that unsettled my family and made me reflect on the fragility of health and the importance of mutual support. It all started when my dear little wife started having a mild cough. At first, we did not give it much importance, thinking it was just a passing cold, in fact she does not like to visit a hospital. However, as the days went by, the cough intensified, and her discomfort became stronger.

Una noche, mientras intentábamos dormir, su tos se volvió tan persistente que ninguno de los dos pudo descansar. La preocupación comenzó a invadir mi mente, en verdad verla asi me asusto porque pensé que se ahogaria. Decidí que era momento de llevarla al ambulatorio más cercano. La mañana siguiente, con el corazón asustado, la acompañé al centro de salud. Al llegar, nos recibió un médico amable que, tras examinarla, nos dio un diagnóstico que no esperábamos: principio de bronquitis.

One night, while we were trying to sleep, her cough became so persistent that neither of us could rest. Worry began to invade my mind, actually seeing her like that scared me because I thought she would drown. I decided it was time to take her to the nearest clinic. The next morning, with a frightened heart, I accompanied her to the health center. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a kind doctor who, after examining her, gave us a diagnosis we did not expect: the beginning of bronchitis.

El médico le recetó antibióticos, un antialérgico, un jarabe y nebulizaciones durante tres días. Aunque el tratamiento parecía sencillo, la noticia nos golpeó fuerte. Ver a mi esposa enferma, sin poder dormir por las noches debido a la tos, me llenó de una mezcla de impotencia y tristeza. La rutina diaria se vio alterada; nuestras noches se convirtieron en una vigilia constante, y el cansancio comenzó a hacer mella en nosotros. Gracias a mi Dios una amiga tenía el nebulizador y me lo prestó, ésto me tranquilizó muchísimo, ya que no quería sacarla asi para hacerle el tratamiento que era por cierto cada doce horas.

The doctor prescribed antibiotics, an anti-allergic, syrup and nebulizations for three days. Although the treatment seemed simple, the news hit us hard. Seeing my wife sick, unable to sleep at night due to coughing, filled me with a mixture of helplessness and sadness. Our daily routine was disrupted; our nights became a constant vigil, and exhaustion began to take its toll on us. Thank God a friend of mine had the nebulizer and lent it to me, this calmed me down a lot, as I did not want to take her out for the treatment, which by the way was every twelve hours.

Durante esos días, me di cuenta de lo frágil que puede ser la estabilidad familiar cuando uno de sus miembros se enferma. Ver a mi esposita asi me partía el alma y toda la familia se siente mal.
La salud, que a menudo damos por sentada, se convirtió en el centro de nuestras preocupaciones. Cada nebulización, cada dosis de medicamento, era un recordatorio de la importancia de cuidar de los nuestros, valorarlos muchísimo en cada instante de nuestra vida.

Hoy, mi esposa está recuperada, y la tos que tanto nos preocupó es solo un recuerdo. Sin embargo, la lección que nos dejó esta experiencia perdura. La salud es un tesoro frágil, y el apoyo familiar es fundamental para enfrentar cualquier adversidad. Este episodio nos recordó la importancia de estar presentes y de cuidar unos de otros, no solo en los momentos de enfermedad, sino siempre.

During those days, I realized how fragile family stability can be when one of its members gets sick. Seeing my little wife like that broke my heart and the whole family feels bad.
Health, which we often take for granted, became the center of our concerns. Every nebulization, every dose of medication, was a reminder of the importance of taking care of our loved ones, valuing them very much in every moment of our lives.

Today, my wife is recovered, and the cough that worried us so much is just a memory. However, the lesson we learned from this experience lives on. Health is a fragile treasure, and family support is fundamental to face any adversity. This episode reminded us of the importance of being present and caring for one another, not only in times of illness, but always.
