No hay nada peor para una madre, que sus hijos se enfermen o les pasé algo, más aún cuando son pequeños. Por lo general somos protectoras es por eso, porque no queremos que ni ningún mal los toque y que nunca tuvieran que llorar o sentir dolor, pero sin embargo esos sentimientos también son parte de la vida.
Mi hijo menor Joaquín, sufre cada vez que un zancudo lo pica, ya van como 4 ocasiones en las que si un zancudo le pica se le hace una roncha e incluso un absceso en esa área, lo cual hay que drenar para sacar la pus y así liberar la presión de la zona y que no se afecte más causando una hinchazón mayor o fiebre. Esta vez todo se juntó, justamente le dió hasta fiebre y casi se pudo convertir en una celulitis.

We are usually protective of them because we don't want them to be touched by any evil and that they never have to cry or feel pain, but nevertheless those feelings are also part of life.
My youngest son Joaquin, suffers every time a mosquito bites him, there have been about 4 occasions in which if a mosquito bites him he gets a welt and even an abscess in that area, which must be drained to remove the pus and thus release the pressure from the area and not to affect it more causing further swelling or fever. This time everything came together, he even got a fever and it almost turned into cellulitis.

Al verlo así de mal y ver su dolor, me recordó algo. Cuando yo era niña y me picaba algún insecto, en especial los zancudos, se me hacían ronchas y se me llenaban de pus, recuerdo que mis piernas tenían muchas picada y las medias blancas de la escuela se me pegaban en las yagas. Parecía como si tuviera varicela, pero eran solo picadas de zancudos a los cuales era alérgica.
No es normal que una picada se hinché, tampoco que se haga una roncha y mucho menos un absceso con pus. Si esto pasa, aún por leve que sea el síntoma, es que la persona seguramente es alérgica, incluso el médico que atendió a Joaquín, ya que tuve que llevarlo a un Centro de Salud para que le mandaran antibiótico, me dijo que hasta una alergia por una picada de zancudo puede causar asfixia y esto me sorprendió mucho, por eso es algo que no se debe tomar a la ligera.
Seeing him like that and seeing his pain reminded me of something. When I was a child and I was bitten by insects, especially mosquitoes, I would get welts and they would fill with pus, I remember that my legs were very itchy and my white socks from school would stick to the sores. It looked like I had chicken pox, but they were just bites from mosquitoes to which I was allergic.
It is not normal for a bite to swell up, nor is it normal for a welt to develop, let alone an abscess with pus. If this happens, even if the symptom is mild, the person is surely allergic, even the doctor who attended Joaquín, since I had to take him to a Health Center to get an antibiotic, told me that even an allergy from a mosquito bite can cause asphyxia and this surprised me a lot, so it is something that should not be taken lightly.
Actualmente Joaquín está en tratamiento con antibióticos, apenas está comenzando, su brazo ha mejorado pero lentamente. Aún debemos comprar 2 frascos más de antibiótico ya que debe cumplir un tratamiento de 7 días y es importante saber también que los tratamientos con antibiótico no deben ser suspendidos y deben darse a las horas exactas. A mí la alergia se me quitó sola, aunque a veces aún sufro las consecuencias por una picadura, solo espero que él pueda superar esto pronto.
Cabe destacar que Joaquín es un chico valiente, llora porque obviamente le duele, pero pone su brazo para que lo drenen y aguanta mucho el dolor que causa el absceso.
Currently Joaquin is on antibiotic treatment, he is just starting, his arm has improved but slowly. We still have to buy 2 more bottles of antibiotics since he must complete a 7 day treatment and it is also important to know that the antibiotic treatments should not be suspended and must be given at the exact time. For me the allergy went away by itself, although sometimes I still suffer the consequences of a bite, I just hope he can overcome this soon.
It is worth mentioning that Joaquin is a brave boy, he cries because it obviously hurts, but he puts his arm out to be drained and endures the pain caused by the abscess very well.
