Good evening, dear hivers. I find myself again sharing in this beautiful #Motherhood community to tell you about our day to day life with our beloved Ema, taking advantage of the fact that we are still on vacation.
Today we decided to go out and enjoy the beautiful day. It was so funny to meet cows and some bulls. My husband, who is our great ally in all this, was documenting our days with Emmanuel, taking pictures while Ema and I enjoyed the ride. Ema would name things according to what he thought they were called and I would tell him the correct one.
Buenas noches, queridos hivers. Me encuentro nuevamente compartiendo en esta hermosa comunidad de #Motherhood para contarles nuestro día a día con nuestro amado Ema, aprovechando que aún estamos de vacaciones.
Hoy decidimos salir a disfrutar del hermoso día. Fue muy gracioso encontrarnos con vacas y algunos toros. Mi esposo, que es nuestro gran aliado en todo esto, iba documentando nuestros días con Emmanuel, tomando fotos mientras Ema y yo disfrutamos del recorrido. Ema iba poniéndole nombre a las cosas según lo que él creía que se llamaban y yo le decía el correcto.
The day was quite hot. In fact, the man with the cart per post, (since our cart is not yet fully repaired), and I were talking about the hot days we are having on Margarita Island. We could tell that it was 43 degrees at 10 am. It was very hot, but that didn't stop us. We stopped to cool off and drink water to continue on our way, not knowing exactly what our destination would be. In the meantime, we enjoyed the moment, it gives me great joy to see Ema enjoying the scenery.
El día estaba bastante caluroso. De hecho, el señor del carro por puesto, (ya que nuestro carrito aún no está reparado totalmente ), y yo estuvimos hablando sobre los días tan calientes que estamos teniendo en la isla de Margarita. Pudimos notar que estábamos a 43 grados a las 10 de la mañana. Hacía mucho calor, pero eso no nos detuvo. Nos parábamos a refrescarnos y a tomar agua para seguir nuestro camino, sin saber exactamente cuál sería nuestro destino. Mientras tanto, disfrutábamos del momento, me da mucha alegría ver a Ema disfrutar el paisaje.
We made it to Porlamar, to the center of the city. We took the opportunity to run some errands at the Banco de Venezuela, talk to the manager and ask about some cards. Emmanuel behaved very well and was patient despite the number of people in the agency. My husband decided to go out and sit on some benches on a boulevard to distract Ema a little from the confinement and the crowd, preventing her from getting upset. Thanks to the bank's operators, who already know our Ema, we were quickly taken care of so we could be on our way again soon.
Logramos llegar a Porlamar, al centro de la ciudad. Aprovechamos para hacer algunas diligencias en el Banco de Venezuela, hablar con el gerente y preguntar sobre algunas tarjetas. Emmanuel se portó muy bien y tuvo paciencia a pesar de la cantidad de personas que había en la agencia. Mi esposo decidió salir a sentarse en unos banquitos de un bulevar para distraer un poco a Ema del encierro y de la multitud, evitando que se alterara. Gracias a las muchachas operadoras del banco, que ya conocen a nuestro Ema, nos atendieron rápidamente para poder retomar nuestro camino pronto.
Taking advantage of the fact that we were downtown, we were able to go into a few stores. In a few months, Emmanuel will start a new school year, so we were observing and making our budget for when the day of classes arrives. This makes us very happy, as every year is a new stage and another learning experience. At every moment we were showing him his uniform so that he could become familiar with the idea of going back to school. We also give him the opportunity to choose and try on clothes, since there are fabrics and smells that he does not like very much. We want him to feel comfortable when it's time to put it on.
Aprovechando que estábamos en el centro, pudimos entrar en algunas tiendas. En unos meses, Emmanuel comenzará un nuevo año escolar, así que fuimos observando y haciendo nuestro presupuesto para cuando llegue el día de las clases. Esto nos tiene muy contentos, ya que cada año es una nueva etapa y un aprendizaje más. En cada momento le íbamos enseñando su uniforme para que se vaya familiarizando con la idea de volver al colegio. También le damos la oportunidad de elegir y probarse la ropa, ya que hay telas y olores que no le agradan mucho. Queremos que se sienta cómodo cuando llegue el momento de ponérselo.

He liked shoes in another color, especially red, but at school they don't accept them in that color. So we bought him the red ones for the house and, without him noticing, we bought him the school ones. We are very happy with the idea of a new beginning, knowing that he puts a lot of effort in the special school, with the help of his teachers and therapists. He has been making a lot of progress; he already knows numbers, colors and vowels. We are confident that soon he will know even more. We are not forcing him, we are just trying to let him advance at his own pace and stage.
Each one of his steps, in learning, however small it may seem is very good for him and that makes us happy.

A él le gustaban unos zapatos de otro color, especialmente el rojo, pero en el colegio no los aceptan de ese color. Así que le compramos los rojos para la casa y, sin que él se diera cuenta, le compramos los del colegio. Estamos muy felices con la idea de un nuevo comienzo, sabiendo que él pone mucho de su parte en el colegio especial, con la ayuda de sus maestras y terapeutas. Ha ido avanzando mucho; ya sabe los números, los colores y las vocales. Confiamos en que pronto sabrá aún más. No lo estamos forzando, solo tratamos de que avance a su propio ritmo y en su etapa.
Cada uno de sus pasos, en el aprendizaje, por pequeño que parezca es muy bueno para él y eso nos alegra.
