A new school year begins and unlike previous years, this year we went through big changes, my daughter Andrea starts a new stage in her life, she stopped being an elementary school child to start her first year of high school. On her first day she was nervous because it is a new school, with new classmates, everything was going to be new, she was not very willing to have her picture taken, but as a good mom we always look for a way to get our way, even if our children don't want to.
Another change is that with the beginning of this school year Andrea showed interest in learning English and decided to abandon keyboarding classes for a while or change them for English classes, where she not only learns to write but also to speak the language. Although I enjoyed watching her play the keyboard, I must admit that the fact that she is preparing herself in another language is more beneficial for her future. She has been taking these classes for a month now and yesterday, when I was there, I could see that she is doing quite well.
Comienza un nuevo año escolar y a diferencia de años anteriores, este año pasamos por grandes cambios, mi hija Andrea comienza una nueva etapa en su vida, dejó de ser una niña de primaria para comenzar su primer año de secundaria. En su primer día estaba nerviosa porque es un nuevo colegio, con nuevos compañeros, en fin, todo iba a ser nuevo, no estaba muy dispuesta a que le tomaran fotos, pero como buena mamá siempre buscamos la manera de salirnos con la nuestra, aunque nuestros hijos no quieran.
Otro cambio es que con el inicio de este año escolar Andrea mostró interés en aprender inglés y decidió abandonar por un tiempo las clases de teclado o cambiarlas por clases de inglés, donde no sólo aprende a escribir sino también a hablar el idioma. Aunque disfruté viéndola tocar el teclado, debo admitir que el hecho de que se esté preparando en otro idioma es más beneficioso para su futuro. Lleva un mes recibiendo estas clases y ayer, cuando estuve allí, pude comprobar que lo está haciendo bastante bien.
As for Andres, he is the one with whom we have had more changes, since two months ago he was selected to be part of a baseball academy and now he has training in the mornings and afternoons, it has been months in which he and we have had to adapt to a new routine.
My concern had always been how was he going to continue studying? It can be said that when I understood that training daily and in that schedule he could not attend his school, at that moment I entered a period that can be said that it was like a kind of spite, because I did not want him to abandon his studies, for that reason I had to look for another option other than face-to-face education. Thank God I found the methodology of distance education, in which he will receive the activities to be done at home and then present them at school.
After enrolling him in this new school I felt calmer because I know that since he is so intelligent he will be able to fulfill all his obligations, anyway it would not be something new, since that way we worked during the pandemic and although this time he does not have all the time he had during the pandemic years, it is still a better option.
En cuanto a Andrés, es con quien más cambios hemos tenido, desde hace dos meses fue seleccionado para formar parte de una academia de béisbol y ahora tiene entrenamientos en las mañanas y en las tardes, han sido meses en los que él y nosotros hemos tenido que adaptarnos a una nueva rutina.
Mi preocupación siempre había sido ¿cómo iba a seguir estudiando? Se puede decir que cuando entendí que entrenando diariamente y en ese horario él no podría asistir a su colegio, en ese momento entré en un periodo que se puede decir que fue como una especie de despecho, porque yo no quería que él abandonara sus estudios, por esa razón tuve que buscar otra opción que no fuera la educación presencial. Gracias a Dios encontré la metodología de educación a distancia, en la cual él recibirá las actividades a realizar en casa y luego las presentará en el colegio.
Después de inscribirlo en esta nuevo colegio me sentí más tranquila porque sé que al ser tan inteligente podrá cumplir con todas sus obligaciones, de todas formas no sería algo nuevo, ya que de esa manera trabajamos durante la pandemia y aunque esta vez no tiene todo el tiempo que tuvo durante los años de pandemia, sigue siendo una mejor opción.
Life is full of changes and we had spent a lot of time doing the same. I only hope that every decision we have made is for the good of our children, because we do it thinking about them and their future.
La vida está llena de cambios y nosotros hemos pasado mucho tiempo haciendo lo mismo. Sólo espero que todas las decisiones que hemos tomado sean para el bien de nuestros hijos, porque lo hacemos pensando en ellos y en su futuro.
