Привіт! Багато років задумуюсь про те, навіщо успішна людина зі світу спорту чи якогось виду бізнесу переміщається в політичну багнюку. Й хоча я знаю відповідь на це питання, а саме, щодо України, та й, думаю, ви теж здогадуєтесь, все одно вирішив викласти цей допис.
Уявіть, ви успішний спортсмен, світова зірка. Ви маєте шанувальників у всіх країнах планети, ваші світлини періодично з'являються в ЗМІ, на ваших рахунках мільйони доларів, є вілла на сонячному узбережжі Іспанії, медалі, нагороди, визнання... Вас люблять, поважають, від вас шаленіють представники чи представниці іншої статі. Заманливо, еге ж? І тут ви зухвало говорите про те, що можете уміло керувати соціальними, економічними чи політичними процесами. Звідки ж взялися ці вміння та навички, якщо весь час свого життя витратили на шлях до слави? Так, їх немає, а набути їх непросто, потрібні десятиліття.
Чомусь згадав чудового українського футболіста Андрія Шевченка. Він не став політиком, не поліз в болото й залишив назавжди своє ім'я чистим, а гру й тренерську роботу гідної поваги. Наскільки мені відомо, він і дотепер працює на тренерській роботі. Ім'я Андрія вже не миготить в заголовках, як в колишні часи, та всі пам'ятають його класну гру, а інтернет допоможе й наступним поколінням пишатися достойним гравцем з України, людиною з незаплямованою репутацією.
Коли ж випадково доводиться слухати виступи діячів, що попали в політичну сферу з іншої індустрії, то саме мені чомусь стає соромно. Хоча незручність повинні відчувати вони. Нерідко стає соромно, а іноді й страшно за майбутнє. Спробував керувати — не вийшло. Спробував розмовляти — не вийшло. Спробував покращити — теж не вийшло. Ну все, годі, йди з Богом! Не йде й хоче продовжувати, попри все, навіть закони та суспільну думку.
Показовим прикладом є історія Арнольда Шварценеггера. “Термінатор” відносно нетривалий час керував Каліфорнією й не досяг тієї мети, що була обіцяна в рамках передвиборчої програми. Людина спробувала й достойно відійшла від політики. Ніяких корупційних скандалів, махінацій тощо. Якщо вірити публікаціям в мережі, то Арнольд витратив більше грошей на передвиборчі компанії, чим заробив за час свого губернаторства. Звичайно, США — це не Україна й мета приходу до влади суттєво відрізняється в наших країнах. Та хай там як, але мені здається, що краще залишити свою репутацію незаплямованою й насолоджуватися своєю основною діяльністю. Гроші дійсно дарують щастя, але так буває не завжди.

How can politics end your successful career?
Hello! For many years, I have been thinking about why a successful person from the world of sports or some kind of business would move into the political mud. And although I know the answer to this question, namely, in relation to Ukraine, and I think you can guess it too, I decided to post this post anyway.
Imagine you are a successful athlete, a world star. You have fans in all countries of the world, your photos appear periodically in the media, you have millions of dollars in your accounts, a villa on the sunny coast of Spain, medals, awards, recognition... You are loved, respected, and the opposite sex is crazy about you. It's tempting, isn't it? And then you boldly say that you can skillfully manage social, economic, or political processes. Where did these skills come from, if you spent all your life on the path to fame? Yes, they don't exist, and they are not easy to acquire, it takes decades.
For some reason, I remembered a wonderful Ukrainian football player, Andriy Shevchenko. He didn't become a politician, didn't get into the mud, and left his name clear forever, and his game and coaching worthy of respect. As far as I know, he is still working as a coach. Andriy's name no longer flashes in the headlines like it used to, but everyone remembers his great game, and the Internet will help future generations to be proud of a worthy player from Ukraine, a man with an unblemished reputation.
When I accidentally have to listen to speeches by figures who have entered the political sphere from another industry, I am the one who for some reason feels ashamed. Although they should feel awkward. I often feel ashamed and sometimes scared for the future. I tried to lead - it didn't work. I tried to talk - it didn't work. I tried to improve - it didn't work either. That's enough, go with God! He did not quit and wanted to continue, despite everything, even laws and public opinion.
A good example is the story of Arnold Schwarzenegger. The "Terminator" ruled California for a relatively short time and did not achieve the goal that was promised in his election program. The man tried and retired from politics with dignity. No corruption scandals, fraud, etc. According to online publications, Arnold spent more money on election campaigns than he earned during his governorship. Of course, the United States is not Ukraine, and the goal of coming to power is significantly different in our countries. Nevertheless, it seems to me that it is better to leave your reputation untarnished and enjoy your core business. Money does make you happy, but it doesn't always.
