Довгий час в Україні не дуже хотіли займатись реконструкцією старого, здебільшого ще радянського житлового фонду. Більшість багатоквартирних будинків в містах України будувались ще за радянських часів і відрізняються від сучасної архітектури типовою радянською сірістю та відвертою непривабливістю. Це не значить, що в українців немає відчуття смаку чи естетики. Просто десятиліттями радянська влада вбивала українцям в голову головні тези життя - бути такими як всі, не виділятися, не мати власної думки, слухатись і боятись влади.
Та ми не такі. Ми вільний народ з багатовіковими культурними традиціями і цінностями. І так, ми хочемо жити в гарних і красивих будинках, в охайних і чистих містах і ми відбудуємо нашу Україну після перемоги над російським мордором в кращих архітектурних проєктах. Бо Україна - європейська країна!
For a long time, Ukraine did not really want to engage in the reconstruction of the old, mostly still Soviet, housing stock. Most apartment buildings in the cities of Ukraine were built in Soviet times and differ from modern architecture in typical Soviet grayness and downright unattractiveness. This does not mean that Ukrainians do not have a sense of taste or aesthetics. It's just that for decades, the Soviet government hammered into the heads of Ukrainians the main theses of life - to be like everyone else, not to stand out, not to have your own opinion, to obey and fear the authorities.
But we are not like that. We are a free people with centuries-old cultural traditions and values. And yes, we want to live in nice and beautiful houses, in neat and clean cities, and we will rebuild our Ukraine after the victory over Russian Mordor in the best architectural projects. Because Ukraine is a European country!
