Dear readers, today Ukraine celebrates the Day of Defenders. Therefore, I will tell you about one of them, about the Hero.
Modest and brave, calm and courageous, inconspicuous and irreplaceable. Volodymyr K., who worked as a storekeeper in a supermarket on the eve of February 24, 2022, was unable to get in touch to tell about his service, because he is on the front line 24/7 and holds positions in the Donetsk direction. But his comrades-in-arms, & work colleagues from the same supermarket told me about the warrior's bravery and extraordinary modesty.
"I have never met a calmer and more modest person. He visited such a hell, where the boys were shelled 24 hours a day with hail, tanks, and mortars. And if others returned from the task under the influence of strong emotions and relieved stress in various ways, Volodymyr calmly went to buy a new flashlight. He is extremely respected by his comrades-in-arms, but only few people know his fighting path."
Volodymyr K. is a former marine. The war for him lasts more than 223 days. In 2015, he served in the famous 36th brigade of marines, later signed a contract and served in the same brigade. When the full-scale invasion of russia began, he voluntarily joined the Military Commissariat, but could not get into his brigade. Volodymyr was sent to the 23rd separate motorized rifle battalion. Since then, he has been defending the country in the Donetsk direction.
"Once, the group in which Volodymyr was, — the comrades-in-arms say, — went to "zero" positions (means, the very front line). There was massive shelling. Defenders were ordered to change positions. When the comrades made their way to the position at night, they found that Volodymyr's group was still holding the defense. When asked why they did not return, they heard the answer: there was no such order. For three days without communication, food, water, they sat in the trenches and held the defense!
And once Volodymyr, without batting an eye, told us how their position was first shot from a tank, and then shelled with a mortar all day. The 2-meter-deep trench almost leveled with the ground. At night, they climbed out of the dugout and dug in deep again, simultaneously shooting back so that the enemy did not approach the positions".
Currently, the unit where Volodymyr K. serves is firmly holding the defense on the eastern borders. The soldiers say that in 8 years the enemy has strongly strengthened here, built concrete dugouts, strong defense structures. Planned a serious offensive campaign to occupy the entire Donetsk region. But their plans were hindered by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Because Donetsk & Luhansk, Crimea, Kherson & Zaporizhzhia belong Ukraine. It was so, it is so, and it will be so.

Скромний і сміливий, спокійний і відважний, непомітний і незамінний. Володимир К., який напередодні 24.02 працював комірник у супермаркеті, так і не зміг вийти на зв'язок, щоб розповісти про свою службу, бо 24/7 на передовій і тримає позиції на Донецькому напрямку. Але про хоробрість і надзвичайну скромність воїна розповіли його бойові побратими, колеги по роботі з цього ж супермаркету.
«Спокійнішої і скромнішої людини я не зустрічав. Він побував в такому пеклі, де хлопців цілодобово обстрілювали з градів, танків, мінометів. І якщо інші повертались із завдання під впливом сильних емоцій і знімали стрес в різний спосіб, то Володимир спокійно йшов купувати новий ліхтарик. Його надзвичайно поважають побратими, але мало хто знає його бойовий шлях».
Володимир К. – колишній морський піхотинець. Війна для нього триває більше, ніж 223 дні. Ще в 2015 році він проходив строкову службу в славнозвісній 36-ій бригаді морської піхоти, пізніше підписав контракт і служив в цій ж бригаді. Коли почалось повномасштабне вторгнення росії, добровільно пішов в військкомат, але у свою бригаду вже потрапити не зміг. Володимир був направлений в 23-й окремий мотострілецький батальйон. З тих пір обороняє країну на Донецькому напрямку.
«Одного разу група, в якій був Володимир, — розповідають побратими, — вийшла на нульові позиції. Відбувся масований обстріл. Їм поступив наказ на зміну позицій. Коли вночі побратими пробрались на позиції, виявили, що група Володимира і далі тримає оборону. На питання, чому не повертались, почули відповідь: так наказу ж не було. Три дні без зв’язку, їжі, води вони сиділи в окопах і тримали оборону!
А якось Володимир, і оком не мигнувши, розповів, як їхню позицію спершу розстріляли з танка, а далі крили мінометом цілий день. Окоп глибиною в 2 метри зрівнявся майже з землею. Вночі вилазили з бліндажу і знову закопувались на глибину, одночасно відстрілюючись, щоб ворог не наближався до позицій».
Зараз підрозділ, де служать Володимир К., міцно тримає оборону на східних рубежах. Воїни кажуть, що за 8 років ворог тут сильно укріпився, збудував бетонні бліндажі, міцні оборонні споруди. Планував серйозну наступальну кампанію, щоб окупувати всю Донеччину. Але їх планам завадили Збройні Сили України. Бо Донецьк, як і Луганськ, як Крим, Херсон та Запоріжжя – це Україна. Була, є і буде.
