Виріб виготовлений з нейзильберу, номінал 2 гривні. Монета вагою 12.8 г була введена в обіг 18 лютого 2016 року. Розмір складає 31 мм. Гурт рифлений. Для допису Монета із серії “Видатні особистості України” з нейзильберу Софія Русова, номінал 2 гривні запозичено 2 світлини з офіційної сторінки Національного банку України.
Софія Русова відома як літературний критик, мовознавець, активний політичний діяч та організатор фемінізму в нашій країні. Однією з основних ідей видатної особистості було впровадження рідної української школи.
Реверс. Ця сторона монети з нейзильберу характерна для серії “Видатні особистості України”. Так, основну частину займає стилізований портрет культурної діячки. В нижній частині викарбувано ім'я, прізвище й роки її життя.
Лицьова сторона. В правій частині монети нанесено відомий вислів Русової, зліва зображено настільну лампу, що є символом освіти. Національні символи, рік карбування (2016) та номінал розташовані у верхній частині виробу. Лого монетного двору нанесено внизу, біля символічної лампи.
