When our adventuring party was made this offer by the water cult boss, I'm proud to say we steadfastly refused. Sacrificing an innocent for promises of power just isn't how good adventurers become great ones. Well that, and we thought we'd make out so much better by simply beating the snot out of him and stealing all his stuff. THAT is what makes great adventurers! 😁
