La imaginación tiene caminos infinitos, que hacen de lo real una aventura fascinante de la mente. De las millones de experiencias que tenemos desde que nacemos que la mente guarda, recordamos algunas, olvidamos otras. Un sonido, una paisaje, un sabor, una sensación en la piel, pueden llevarnos a otros tiempos y lugares que despiertan una emoción dormida, una alegría, una tristeza, un momento de rabia o fortaleza.
La imaginación, ese motor de la creatividad, utiliza todos esos recuerdos que el cuerpo, la mente y el alma guardan, escoge algunos, particularmente significativos, y elabora una obra, una construcción estética que busca representar esas sensaciones y su huella en nosotros.
Nos dice Octavio Paz en “El arco y la lira” que la imagen poética y el artista unen la pluralidad de lo real:
Juan Ferraté, por su parte, expresa en su libro “Teoría del poema”:
Una palabra, con sus significados y connotaciones, es un centro de irradiación en múltiples direcciones íntimas, un despertador de evocaciones y afanes con nexos varios e imprevisibles en la intimidad de cada uno. Lo mismo un color o un acorde.
El artista toma múltiples elementos de lo real, los entrelaza, los fusiona, creando una nueva realidad dentro de lo real, nos invita a despertar nuevas maneras de percepción, nuevas maneras de experimentar y pensar lo real.

La inteligencia artificial:
una nueva poética del mundo
Si como he expresado en las líneas precedentes la escritura poética fusiona diversos aspectos de lo real que se encuentran en diversos espacios y tiempos y construye una obra creativa, una expresión estética, podríamos afirmar también que al servirnos de la IA la creación artística y poética puede potenciarse a niveles inimaginables.
Desde hace más de quince años el artista venezolano Yucef Merhi ha trabajado en su obra con la inteligencia artificial, pero entonces nadie hablaba del tema. Esto suele ocurrir, con frecuencia los artistas de vanguardia como Yucef se adelantan a los cambios y transformaciones de su tiempo. Recuerdo una exposición del artista en 2010, “Binarios”, en el Centro Cultural Chacao de Caracas, en la cual expuso una instalación en la cual había una máquina programada, la cual mostraba en una pantalla versos que cambiaban constantemente. Esta obra nos sorprendió a todos porque en aquel momento ningún artista había hecho una máquina que poetizar y la mayoría de nosotros entendíamos la poesía y lo poético como algo humano, íntimo, subjetivo.

El gran dilema que nos plantea la IA, como ha ocurrido con otros cambios tecnológicos que ha generado la humanidad, es el dilema ético. Me parece interesante reflexionar sobre las potencialidades creativas que nos ofrece la IA, detrás de toda creación que se sirve de la IA hay una persona, un ser humano; pero así también empezamos a ver usos no éticos de la IA, personas o grupos que la utilizan para crear fake news, para desacreditar a otras personas, para distorsionar la realidad. Las imágenes creadas por la inteligencia artificial parecen "reales", es difícil distinguir un texto creado por la IA. La línea entre la realidad y a ficción se ha vuelto muy delgada.

Sin embargo, lo que deseo resaltar en estas líneas es que definitivamente la IA nos ofrece una nueva poética de lo real, una nueva forma de percibir lo real, en tanto une, como el lenguaje metafórico de la poesía, diversos referentes, diversos mundos, diversos planos de lo real.

Octavio Paz tells us in "The Bow and the Lyre" that the poetic image and the artist unite the plurality of the real:
Every image brings opposing, indifferent or distant realities closer together. That is, it brings the plurality of the real into unity (...) The stone of the statue, the red of the painting, the word of the poem are not simply stone, colour, word: they embody something that transcends and goes beyond them. Without losing their primary values, their original weight, they are also like bridges that lead us to another shore, doors that open onto another world of meanings unspeakable by mere language.
Juan Ferraté, for his part, expresses in his book "Teoría del poema":
A word, with its meanings and connotations, is a centre of irradiation in multiple intimate directions, an awakener of evocations and desires with various and unforeseeable links in the intimacy of each one. So is a colour or a chord.
The artist takes multiple elements of the real, interweaves them, fuses them, creating a new reality within the real, inviting us to awaken new ways of perceiving, new ways of experiencing and thinking the real.

Artificial intelligence: a new poetics of the world
If, as I have expressed in the preceding lines, poetic writing fuses diverse aspects of the real that are found in diverse spaces and times and builds a creative work, an aesthetic expression, we could also affirm that by making use of AI, artistic and poetic creation can be enhanced to unimaginable levels.
For more than fifteen years the Venezuelan artist Yucef Merhi has been working with artificial intelligence in his work, but at the time nobody was talking about it. This is often the case; avant-garde artists like Yucef are often ahead of the changes and transformations of their time.
