Blogging Challenge - Part 02 - Day 03
In my area of work, the worst advice i've heard is from designers who sell quality for price. The client tells you that he wants a design, with x quality... and then he wants to lower the price because he considers it is worth less, and another designer recommends a cheaper supplier.
Here comes the disaster, the client thinks he is going to get the same result of the proposal with a much cheaper budget, and it is not so. In the world of interior design and architecture, a supplier ¨cheaper¨ can be very expensive in the future.
For example, it's not the same to hire a designer to supervise a change of floor, to yourself having to go to the shop to get the ceramics, pay for transport, calculate the materials, hire and supervise the worker to remove the ceramics from the floor and place the new one and then hire another one to polish it, unless you find one of the all-terrain workers who are even electrical and plumbers... who are the worst. I can assure you that in the BEST case a water pipe is punctured, either from your building or from a neighbour; they easily break your hot water pipes or electric ducts and you come to notice when the floor is already laid, polished and your neighbour downstairs has a full bathroom of sh**. And you have to pay for the repair of the neighbour's bathroom, together with the removal of your flat and put it back (obviously buying all the materials).

En mi área de trabajo, los peores consejos que he escuchado, son de los diseñadores que venden calidad a cambio de precio. El cliente te dice que quiere un diseño, con x calidad... y luego quiere bajarle el precio porque considera que vale menos, y otro diseñador le recomienda un suplidor más económico.
Aquí llega el desastre, el cliente cree que va a conseguir el mismo resultado de la propuesta con un presupuesto mucho más barato, y no es así. En el mundo del diseño de interiores y la arquitectura, un suplidor ¨más barato¨ te puede salir muy caro en un futuro.
Por ejemplo, no es lo mismo contratar a un diseñador que te supervise un cambio de piso, a tu mismo tener que ir a la tienda a buscar la cerámica, pagar acarreo, calcular los materiales, contratar y supervisar al obrero para que te remueva la cerámica del piso y te coloque la nueva para luego contratar a otro para pulir, a menos que encuentres uno de los obreros todo terreno que hasta son eléctricos y plomeros... que son los peores. Puedo asegurar que en el MEJOR de los casos se pincha una tubería de agua, sea de tu edificio o de algún vecino; te rompen fácilmente las tuberías de agua caliente o ductos eléctricos y te vienes a dar cuenta cuando ya el piso está colocado, pulido y a tu vecino de abajo se le llenó el baño de mier**. Y tienes que pagar por la reparación del baño del vecino, junto con la remoción de tú piso y colocarlo de nuevo (obviamente comprando todos los materiales).
But nothing, this is just part of the job that has to be seen, and all that remains is to laugh at the very intelligent ideas of others.
