Love is today’s topic. What is it? Why is it? These are the questions I’ll be trying to answer in this post.

Love is a wonderful thing, but it can be difficult to define. There are also multiple types of love. I think the easiest way to define what love is, is to break it down into a few examples.
Familial love. This is the sort of love you feel towards your family, either the one you are born with or the one you make for yourself. This sort of love is based on mutual respect, and closeness with people. Wikipedia says that the Greek word for this type of love is Philia, and is the opposite of the word Phobia. These are the people you are always happy to be around. You care about them and their lives and they feel the same way about you.
Romantic Love. This is the type of love that you feel for your spouse it is similar to familiar love except that this version includes attraction in the mix. This is the exciting kind of love that people like to chase, and that tv executives like to make reality shows about. Over time with work this love can mature into a love that can last a lifetime.
Unconditional love. This type of love can be a part of the others and is usually associated with religions and God. As a Christian this sort of love is central to my beliefs. It is everlasting, and unconditional. It reliant on actions or words.
In the end I believe love is the feeling of wanting to care for, and share all the important moments of your life with someone. It includes all the trust, and intimacy that entails. It is what makes life worth living, and is best when shared.
