Dating is not something that comes easy to many of us. We often find ourselves in compromising situations with the person we're dating.

Dating involves a whole lot of things that one may not take into consideration before dating.
From my personal experience, I could give a few pieces of advice to someone new to dating.

Firstly, it's very important to date someone whose principles, values, and morals align with yours. For most parts of dating one will be in close relation with their spouse. It's not advisable to be with someone who doesn't see life the way you do.

Secondly, be open to meaningful communication about important aspects of your relationship. Communication is very key to the health of any relationship. This takes up over 60% of the activities of the relationship.

You must be able to communicate freely with your partner. It's not advisable to go into a relationship where there's no open communication, there is little or no room to resolve any dispute. That can be draining on any relationship, as time goes by it sucks the life out of it.

One should be able to tell their spouse how they feel about a particular situation or how an action makes them feel. If you're uncomfortable with something your partner did, then you should be able to communicate that feeling to them.

Thirdly, no one person is perfect. One must accept that he/she is flawed. Give room for corrections. You're humans and therefore you'll make mistakes, be able to admit when you are wrong, and make corrections. No one is an island.

Lastly, accept them for who they are. We are all unique individuals with different unique personalities. Refrain from comparing them to someone else, they are not that person.

It's important to understand that no two persons are the same. We are uniquely different. In the same vein, no one relationship is like the other. Different relationships have their problems and have ways of solving them.

These are a few pieces of advice among many. Dating is a whole lot of work, one has to put in the work to see results. It is like a skill, it gets better the more you practice and enhance it. Dating gets better the more you figure each other out, resolve and accept them for who they are.
