Hello there Hive Family,
Today I would like to share with you an amazing hike to peak Musala standing at 2925 meters high. It is the highest peak in the whole Balkan peninsula (which is Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Greece, ex Yugoslavia, and Albania). Excellent views and crystal clear sky marked the beginning of 2021 in a very positive fashion.
As usual the hike started with a coffee break and checking out one of the many ski slopes in the Borovets area. Borovets is a well known destination of ski and snowboard enthusiasts. The snow was not too much at this vicinity so there were quite a few snowmaking shower machines and guns.
The excellent weather conditions were a premise for a crowded hike. Fortunately, most of the people just went to the slopes.
Pathways were formed and well trampled. Walking was as easy as going to the park.
There was some wind but nothing compared to my previous trip to peak Bezbog.
Some great shots during our ascend.
Here we see Hut Musala.
One of the chill places where we stopped for a refreshment and snacks.
View from above.
The ascend continues to our last stop before the peak. Shelter Frozen Lake.
The wind is blowing strong on the top of the mountain.
The difference is real. The lower altitudes are way calmer and colorful.
A picture behind the fir.
Time to begin the final climb.
We are almost there.
Higher view of the Frozen Lake and the shelter.
That is it! This is peak Musala top station.
Let´s gather together and eternalize the moment!
Views from the top. Some people link them with the Himalayas. A bit overextended but indeed amazing scenery.
I really enjoyed the hike and the beauty that surrounded me.
We are not done yet! The coolest part comes right this moment.
Do you spot the igloo 😍 A closer look is always better.
Let´s take an inside peek, shall we?
Now that is something new. I have never taken a picture from the inside of an igloo. Also it is pretty warm inside. No blowing wind. Just chilling.
Time to wrap up and go back. We thought about skiing as we still had plenty of time before sunset. But eventually went eating and back home.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a wonderful day ahead!
Stay happy, be peaceful!
Namaste
