Bo De Zen Monastery

Hello everyone in the Pinmapple community. Nice to talk to you again. I wrote a post about Linh Ung Pagoda. Today I want to share another pagoda located in a residential area, completely different from Linh Ung Pagoda, which is far from Danang city.

You may not find this Zen Monastery on forums about Danang tourism. But it is beautiful and has unique architecture. I want more people to know about this spot.

My first impression was that this place was great and palatial. Although it was just built in 1995, the architecture of Zen Monastery is in the classical style of the Pure Land Buddhism. The Zen Monastery is located in the heart of the hustle and bustle port city, but the atmosphere here is very peaceful. I could even hear birds singing in the courtyard of the monastery. I love the peace of this place. It gives me a sense of being close to nature and a feeling of being back in the old days.

If you can visit the monastery during big celebrations, you will witness thousands of Buddhists coming here to participate. The Zen Monastery will organize many activities imbued with Buddhist culture. You can attend important celebrations like Buddha's Birthday, Wandering Soul's Day, Full Moon Festival, etc. And don't forget these dates are celebrated based on the lunar calendar.

The pagoda consists of three main areas. The front is the main hall. This building has two floors. This place is for main activities such as meditating and chanting sutras. Inside the main hall, there are many Buddha statues. You can pray in the areas where they are located.

The left side of the Zen Monastery is the chedi. This building has 12 floors and houses about 10,000 statues of Amitabha Buddha.

On the right side is a statue of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. They placed this statue on a large rock. When viewed from a distance, you can see the chedi and the Quan Yin statue facing each other, creating a unique view of this spot.

The buildings here have yellow as the dominant tone for the walls. The red tile roof is elaborately covered with dragon-shape in the corners of them. That is the typical architecture of Chinese Buddhism.

In addition to the three main areas, they also place many small statues scattered in the courtyard of the Zen Monastery.

I often come here on weekends or when I am stressed at work. That is such a quiet place where I can relax. It's good to have somewhere suitable for spiritual life, a place that can help people get a sense of peace in their mind, like 'meditation'.
