Cuando terminé mi carrera universitaria hice un curso de crecimiento personal en el que hicimos un mapa del tesoro, el mío plasmaba todas las cosas que deseaba conseguir en mi vida: Un buen empleo, una casa, un vehículo, un esposo y unos hijos. Una a una fui alcanzando mis metas, en poco tiempo ya tenía todo eso, incluso me invitaron a compartir mi experiencia a otras personas que estaban haciendo ese curso, unos años después. Me sentía realizada, había logrado todo lo que me había propuesto. *** A menos de un año de nuestro matrimonio, a mi esposo lo cambiaron de localidad en el trabajo, supuestamente temporalmente. Pasaron 9 años, me sentía físicamente agotada, de lunes a viernes estaba sola con mis dos hijos y un trabajo bastante exigente, recuerdo que me decía que eso no era lo que había soñado. Eso me recuerda a las películas sobre genios y sus tres deseos, que siempre acaban en desastre 😅.

Otra vez, en búsqueda de la felicidad, tomé la decisión de mudarme de ciudad, donde estaba mi esposo y realmente sentí alivio, porque mi carga de trabajo tanto en casa, como en el trabajo, disminuyó significativamente. Ahora mi felicidad, en un sentido abstracto, dependía de acostumbrarme a esta nueva ciudad y a mi nueva rutina. 6 años después, eso no ha pasado. Extraño el mar... Hay una frase que dice, si no eres feliz con lo que tienes, tampoco lo serás con lo que te falta y creo que eso es muy cierto. Apostar nuestra felicidad a nuestros logros o a condiciones externas, es muy arriesgado, porque no siempre obtendremos lo que deseamos, entonces esa sensación de bienestar integral, frecuentemente estaría pendiendo de un hilo.

Lo que he logrado en la vida me llena de satisfacción, no me imagino sin algo de ello. Aunque mi empleo ya no me satisface, igual lo agradezco, allí conocí a mi esposo, gracias a eso tengo a mis hijos. También con mi empleo pude comprar una casa, un automóvil, desarrollarme profesionalmente y ahora tener la ilusión de jubilarme dentro de poco, lo que me permitirá seguir recibiendo beneficios salariales, sin tener que cumplir una jornada laboral, entonces podré re-invertarme. Pero aprendí, que mi felicidad no depende de lo que espero hacer, ni de lo que hice, sino de lo que decida sentir en mi día a día. Felicidad es ver a mis hijos reír, tener alimentos en nuestra mesa, también lo es ver a mis hijos alcanzar sus metas, tener sueños e ir alcanzándolos. Felicidad es amar y sentirse amado, es respirar y dormir bien, es ver a los demás felices.

Creo que la felicidad es todo aquello que dibuje una sonrisa en nuestro rostro, que nos haga sentir plenos y optimistas. Esto no significa que estaremos riendo todo el tiempo, eventualmente nos invadirán todas las emociones, incluyendo aquellas que no nos gustan, pero lo importante es que también pasen rápidamente y sigamos sintiéndonos a gusto con nuestra vida y con quienes somos. What I have achieved in life fills me with satisfaction, I can't imagine myself without some of it.
