The Small Garden in Front of the National Theatre

If you are Bulgarian, you have certainly been here.

Or at least if you were born in the capital Sofia.

But not only.

I myself was not born there. And I would say that those born in the capital are special people. And they can never embrace people who were not born there. Exactly the opposite. In Bulgaria there is a specific expression that is used by citizens of Sofia, for people who were not born there - they are called "people from the countryside" (no matter how big a city they come from), putting in this expression a very strong negative meaning that can not be translated and explained accurately in other languages.

On the other hand, life and opportunity for development in this country exists only in the capital, and in no other, even very large city in this country.

So I, following the example of most of my friends and classmates, "from the countryside" 😆😂, I went to study at a university in the capital and then stayed for many years in this city, looking for a job, working and looking for my luck in general.

But even at university I even had friends born in the capital who were convinced that we, the people from other cities, had come here to steal their jobs, lower the employment requirements and artificially reduce the wages.

Which, of course, is not true.

But I suppose that the inhospitability of the Bulgarian people should be the subject of another publication.

Because here I will show you a special place.

A place where, just like Kopitoto/The Hoof I wrote about some time ago, no one will ask you who you are and where you come from.

Nobody will be interested in your social status, how much money you have, where you live and what kind of car you drive. No one will look down on you because you were not born within this city.

You will be free here. From all kinds of prejudices towards you.

That's the famous National Theatre Garden, or, literally translated from Bulgarian as "the small garden in front of the National Theatre".

Here you can relax from the long working day:
