Returning to Bulgaria after 5 years spent abroad, I was really surprised when my boyfriend took me to this new (for me) landmark of our capital.
It felt like it was discovered exactly in those 5 years when I was away.
Which, of course, is not true. Because Kopitoto, or The Hoof turns out to be one of the most famous attractions visited every day also by locals. The most beautiful "mirador" over the capital - I love this Spanish word.
Kopitoto is in fact an extremely neglected place. And you have to go through or past the old, ruined and vandalized chairlift building to get to it.
Then you will see these ugly metal rests from the lift:
But unlike my previous posts, in which I talk about the decline of Bulgaria in every respect and the neglect of culture, heritage and landmarks, this post is not about that.
Because people come here to see this:
And then see this:
Here come people of all ages and representatives of all social classes.
Here you can see rich men coming with their new, very expensive cars, but you can also see junkies.
Here come romantic couples in love, photographers or weed smokers.
Young and old, poor and rich. They come to enjoy the beauty of nature. And pay tribute to the last lights of the Sun.
I have never seen so many different people connected to each other in a single thing: worship, consciously or not, of the magic of nature.
I hope you liked this place too.
