Chandigarh, a union territory of India, is situated just at the foots of the great Himalayas. Its boundaries touches Himachal Pradesh from north, Punjab from west and south west and Haryana from east and south east.

Chandigarh serves as the capital of two states namely Punjab and Haryana. It was also the first fully planned city of India after independence. The area of Chandigarh was fixed as Union Territory and population of this city rose as time passed leading to formation of 3 more cities around it namely Zirakpur (Haryana), Panchkula(Haryana) and Mohali (Punjab).

Panchkula and Mohali touches Chandigarh and forms like a continuous part of city, whereas Zirakpur is separated from Chandigarh with Chandigarh International Airport in between. Therefore Chandigarh Mohali and Panchkula considered as 'TRICITY' whereas Zirakpur not.

Chandigarh serves as major education as well as trade hub in North India. This city's roads intersect each other at 90 degrees and whole city is divided into many sectors and in which sectors are also divided in parts as A,B,C,D. Each sector has their marketplace in the middle of them for daily need shopping whereas some specific sectors' markets are famous for particular things such as electronics and many more.
