Friday is Dive Day in Moalboal-Cebu-Philippines

Hello all you Hivers,

Here in Moalboal the main reason to be here is SCUBA Diving. The coral wall that runs north to south and also Pescador Island are a huge attraction for divers from around the world.

For those of you who don't dive SCUBA stands for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus as you are taking your breathing air down with you in a scuba cylinder and can breathe from it using the regulator thats attached to it. They come in many different styles and configurations. I like the old school twin hose James Bond looking kit. It looks totally bad ass.

Some prefer to take 2 tanks in a sidemount configuration with a tank hanging either side and not strapped to the back.

But the majority go for a single hose with a back mounted cylinder .

So where do we go today?

Normally I would make the schedule based on the weather and where people have recently been taken into consideration. At the moment its all the same people and they were all pretty cool about where we went. So we used a scientific method to decide.....

Flipping a coin

So after a north or south flip and then a dolphin house or Lo-oc flip.....

the first dive ended up being Dolphin House. No there are no Dolphins living in a house there, which is a shame really as that would be pretty cool. The coin also stated that Rick would not see any whalesharks. the coin has spoken!

There do seem to be a lot of turtles about again though. The seem to be everywhere today.

I'm beginning to think that they actually like posing to have their pictures taken. So vain turtles these days.

The visability is exceptional today, very clear waters making it an absolute pleasure to be underwater. Very calm and relaxing.

Hmmmm I am paying Earl to lead this dive , he's enjoying himself far too much 😁

The diversity of wildlife here is quite remarkable. Many varieties of soft and hard corals, nudibranchs, shrimps of all types, frog fish, sardines, turtles, jack fish, tuna, barracuda the list goes on. I'ts an incredible place and so accessible with all dive sites within 10 mins ride.

Thanks for tuning in. We've had a fun day. Friday seems to be the day that is as close to how things used to be as it can get right now. We've had fun.

Stay safe out there people wherever you may be on the planet.
